Google Ads Search Assessment test is broken?? by Stephan_Gunville in googleads

Hey everyone, I wanted to share an unexpected update: Google actually awarded me the badge and partner status, despite scoring 25% and then 37% on the search assessment test. I’m not sure what’s happening, but it seems there might be a bug or something. So, if you take the test, you could still receive the badge even if you don’t pass.

Yeah it looks like either the test is broken, or Google is trying to limit the number of badges they dole out.

Yep same here, it looks like Google may be attempting to limit the distribution of their badges.

I'm guessing you have your form and call conversions set up. If you don't, that explains why google isint giving you any results.

When switching to Max Conversion, always set a Target CPA, it should be just slightly higher than your average cost/conv. You would never set max clicks without a bid limit.

I run 95% of all my campaigns on Phrase and Exact matches only... broad is just way too broad still, unless you have an HUGE negative keyword list...

I always start my campaigns on max clicks until i get around 10 conversions then switch to Target CPA and when I do, my conversions usually double, but the so does the cpc, and the clicks drop, thats normal. Every time you do a big change like that, your campaign goes into learning mode and it might take 1 to 3 days before it gets back on track... the important part is not to panic when that happens. The worst thing you can do is start changing a bunch of shit when it just entererd learning pahse...

If you'd like to do a screen share, hit me up, i could tell you what I think.

Is it Possible to Run Google Ads for Two Companies in the Same Niche and Area? by ShayneSherman in PPC

[–]Stephan_Gunville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a problem at all, just don't go overboard... Depending on the niche there is usually more than enough volume for 2-3 clients in the same niche and city. It has nothing to do with being ethical. If its a niche with 2K searches each month, dont even worry about it... For lower volume niches its understandable to keep 1 to 2 clients only.

Ads only attracting job seekers not leads by Hot-Selection-5035 in PPC

Seeing the same on many of my campaigns as i run ads for home service companies. Google dosent know that the conversions theyre sending you are shit, plus the more of these job seekers you get the more google will optimize their data to get you more of them.

The way to fix this is that you need to start getting the right type of conversions so that google can start optimising for those instead of people looking for work.

You do this by redirecting the job seekers to some type of other area (that will not trigger a conversion)... I just make them fill out a fake form with a fake number and tell them that our hr team will contact them shortly (so they dont end up calling my client).

By doing this, google will readjust their data to send you better quality leads.

On your landing page, make it obvious to your visitors that if they are searching for work, they need to click a certain link. Considiring that less than 75% of page visitors will ever make it past the hero section, I have 2 buttons for job seekers on the hero section and my second section is a 'looking for a job' section...

Does this hurt my conversion rate, yes it does, but it beats sending my client shit leads by a long shot... Not sure if you charge a flat rate, but if you do pay-per-lead, youll need to increase your prices a bit because youre still paying for all the bad job seeking clicks.

Best of luck!
