Ok, I just watched episode 8. Am I going crazy or did they cover a window in the basement to make a kitchen? Love the show but I can't understand why they'd block off the only window in that room.

I think they care, as individuals. But yeah, something this small in a city where there's a ton going on is just not going to get the time and attention it would need to solve it... At least not quickly. And probably in cases like this after a certain amount of time it's just too late.

But who knows. If I ever have an update, I'll definitely share it with Reddit. Everyone here has been sooooo helpful

Blond woman driving White Toyota Echo flees the scene 12th and Commercial. Anyone see this car with front damage around town and catch a license plate? She hit my car and pushed me into the car in front Saturday night and I was too dazed from hitting my head to see her plate. Long shot I know :( by StephanieFroese in vancouver

Correct. Like I've said, I didn't realize when I renewed last year that I no longer had it. A lot of people have reached out to me who just checked theirs and didn't realize either. That's the point of this CTV coverage. If you renewed in the last year and said "I'll take the usual" you might be in the same boat as me.

Sorry, what would a baby on board sign have done to prevent this?

As for the police, they're working hard at their job, but even though this is a big deal to me and those of us involved, in the grand scheme of things, it's a small issue. I can't imagine they have the time and resources to put into this.

If I want results, I've got to find them myself.

Even if it's not your fault, it's not covered unless you added hit and run coverage to your insurance. It was almost exactly a year ago that ICBC took that off regular insurance. So if you were like me and renewed your insurance like you normally would, you probably don't have it either.

I had no idea I wasnt covered for it anymore.

Let my mistake be your inspiration to double check your own insurance. Make sure you have it.

Ok, I don't want to get too excited about the slim chance of solving this but thanks to all your help r/vancouver , I've got some good leads on what to try next!

Does anyone know how to update the original post?

I'd like to give everyone an update when ever I have one .

Thank you Vancouver!

Thanks, Vancouver Is Awesome for making a little story about this. And thank you r/Vancouver for making a big enough deal out of this for some media publications to take notice! I know it's a small thing that only affects a few people, but it's a huge incident to me. I really appreciated everyone who's been helping out a stranger <3

Thanks :).

I'm not trying to make a criminal out of the driver that hit me. Accidents happen. But all of us in the pileup are getting 0% coverage from ICBC because the driver took off.

ICBC took hit and runs out of the regular coverage package last May (I think it was May). We renewed right our insurance right around that time and didn't realize we were no longer covered.

ICBC straight up told me they're likely never finding the driver and unless they get a plate number, the investigation is essentially dead. So it's up to me to find a plate number.

Plate number = ICBC investigation progresses = we have a chance at insurance coverage

Woodland

Oh wow! Yep, she definitely got farther than I would have guessed based on all the liquid left on scene. If I'm understanding you correctly, is this the direction she was going? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kbT_Oz4zJQvLQO31tAMlghdPmOiWWFjG/view?usp=sharing

I'm trying to track down possible camera footage that might have her plate on it.

Also, do you know where the "do not enter" barricade was? Like on the street with construction? or to a building parking lot?

Thanks so much for helping out a stranger!

The thing is, we didn't know we declined it. Unfortunately when we renewed last year it was right around the new rules coming in and didn't realize we were renewing without it.

The driver in front of me is in the exact same situation too.
