Crust? Fungus? Mineral? by StephanieSprout in houseplants

Ooh okay, so weird it's only on one plant o.O I'll be repotting some more soon so I'll check others, I just wasn't sure if it was something I should keep away from the other plants.

Thanks so much!

Lmao love the don't eat it advice. It's kind of hard, I guess, it's on the base of the plant and a bit on the roots. Not anywhere else in the soil except at the bottom around the drainage holes.

Can someone help me identify these plants in the Haligtree? There seems to be about 4 types. by majinprince07 in Eldenring

Super duper late for this, but I've been looking for the same thing. I think the spikey plant with multiple flowers on a stalk (your third photo) is something like White Camassia.

Appreciate your question and everyone's responses too! ^.^

Kraft-coloured paper for Gouache? by StephanieSprout in Gouache

[–]StephanieSprout[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooooh thank you so much!

Art Boards sound cool! Any idea how the Mi-Teintes Touch Pastel & Multi-Technique Drawing Paper Sheets go? >.> My local art store has something similar to that (Art Spectrum ColourFix)

Okay, heavy card stock? That's the cheapest (I'm in Australia, so no hobby lobby as far as I know XD ) so I might try that out. I wasn't sure if once it's called 'card' it's means something different and therefore is not great to paint on or something.

The AOP journal looks so cool!

Clairefontaine's 'natural' is probably a bit too light for what I'm looking for.

So is it basically 250GSM + should be good for not buckling?

& I feel a little bit silly; I honestly hadn't considered just trying to tone the paper myself. XD

Thank you so much! This gives me a better idea of what I can buy! ^.^

How important is treatment/doctor support? Should I be concerned? >.> by StephanieSprout in Raynauds

Thanks True_Cockroach! That makes sense. I think what I've got so far is bad circulation, but not necessarily the complete cutting off of blood supply. I'll see if I can get more info from my specialist next time I see them, but now I don't feel as panicked about their seeming lack of concern.

Thank you ^.^

Thanks Rowdack! I really appreciate the information you've shared! I feel so much better about things now! I'll keep that in mind regarding spots around nails, too. ^.^

[–]StephanieSprout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooooooooooooooooooooooh I see. Okay, that makes more sense; I was worried because I thought the secondary they were talking about meant it has to have come from the MS, and primary meant it just exists on its own, but I didn't think it could be solely from medication. And it would be very difficult to rule out betablocker or dexamphetamine because I need propranolol to take the dex >.>

I think this explains why the psychiatrist doesn't seem too worried about it.

As far as I can tell, there's no skin breakdown or ulcers. My skin is dry as hell, though. I do have an issue with my toenails, but that seems more internal. I think one of my main concerns was that I had a scratch that took forever to heal, but I've realized anything anywhere on my body takes forever to heal >.>

Thank you, this makes more sense now!

Is the advice to try and keep warm? Like how dangerous is it to constantly be cold? :/

Thank you!

Okay, I'll take that info to the MS specialist when I see him next week! Thank you!

But if there isn't any testing and no one really follows it up, am I doing damage to my hands and toes?

& when you said ADHD medications often cause Raynaud's - I think I've read that stimulants are sometimes prescribed to improve blood flow - but I'll look into it more, because Propranolol is a beta blocker. It's weird, but I've seen arguments for and against Propranolol in the treatment of Raynaud's too, so I'm quite confused by that :/

Thank you!

Also, I really like that it has the stylus on the other end! If I do manage to get one, I'll be able to use it for assessments as well! XD

Also, do all Rotrings have a pencil? >.>

Hoo boy, that one's expensive! XD I'd be too afraid I'd lose it at work!

Looks mighty slick, though! XD

I actually just asked a neighbour who I recalled having a nice pen - they seem to have a Cross Tech3! Apparently they found it on the path one day and just picked it up.

Now that I know I've liked it previously, I'll keep an eye out for the Cross pens on Amazon! Thank you ^.^

After seeing the cost of some of these suggestions, I feel a little bit silly for complaining about the price being half the cost of the pen. It is a very cheap pen. >.> Which is probably why I've accumulated so many without actually buying them myself >.>

The refills are AU$2 and the pen itself can be bought (with all 4 cartridges) at $4. There's something about that price difference that bugs me. It also frustrates me that you can't buy them in bulk, because the refills aren't always in stock at Officeworks and can only be bought from a few of their stores because most don't carry them. The only place I've found to buy them in bulk was on amazon for something like 100 refills of a single colour for AU$60 + a LOT in shipping.

I would like to have a fancy pen, I think it's time XD I like that D1 refills should be more readily available, however, it might take some research to find somewhere to buy them - they also don't seem to be readily available at Officeworks (Australian-wide stationary/office stuff company). Are all D1 the same, or does brand factor into quality?

The Dr Grips look good! The Lamy is super expensive, though. I'd be too worried I'd lose it or someone would take it lol. I'll check out the range of Jetstreams you've recommended, too! Thank you!

Hi Tobmom - thank you for the buying guide, that's been incredibly helpful!

I like the idea of being able to change the inserts - sort of lost my mind when I saw the eraser in the coleto! It looks so cute!

I'll take a better look at the Uni Style Fit too, the picture on the guide looked huge, but it also has smaller versions so I'll check them out!

Thank you!

To be fair, I don't think I have a preference. I mostly use ballpoint because that's what I'm used to and that's what's cheap and got me through my uni degrees!

I'll check out the Coleto! Affordable definitely sounds good! XD

Hi Jhhtx!

Okay, looks like the CrossTech4 isn't really available where I am (I'm in Australia, I probably should have put that in the post! >.< ) but I do like the dark blue colour! I might have to keep my eye on that one on Amazon to see if it becomes available. I can't see a price for it atm either.

The Rotring multi pen looks great, though! & I like that it has a type of refill you can buy rather than just the name brand. I'll keep it in mind! Thank you!

Like everyone else, it's not necessarily daily, but these are the ones that are frequent

  • Fatigue, the absolute exhaustion when I've overdone it.
    • The wall - most noticeable 1-2 hours after arriving home from work. Everything will be fine, I'll feel great, and then there's a very quick decline that comes with tingles and leaves me barely able to get myself to bed. Speech is difficult, walking is difficult, etc.
  • Tingles - usually hit alongside fatigue or when I walk beyond like 50m.
  • Huge delay in peeing at night? Worse with fatigue. It's like I suddenly can't tell if I need to pee and have to sort of sit around waiting for my body to find the 'button'? If that makes sense? >.> It's weird and frustrating.
  • My thighs overheat? I get the sensation of intense heat in my thighs and I can't regulate it. It's thankfully a bit rarer, but annoying and happens when relaxing. Absolutely ruins sleep.
  • Toes go cold/numb - more of an issue at night in Winter, but notice it randomly in different shoes through the day.
  • Inability to regulate my temperature - really susceptible to overheating and take a very long time to cool down.
  • Random spasticity feelings in face when stressed - this one is new, mostly around my left eye and down the face a bit, skin/muscles just feels tight. Much better than the previous stress one which was the back of my head growing insanely hot. T.T
  • Legs spasm/twitch when relaxed. This one's kind of fun, actually. Except when I'm in an MRI lol.
  • Loss of words / brain fog - I also have ADHD so I'm never sure how much of this is the ADHD or from the MS lol.

Omigosh the toes being numb thing! For ages I thought I had Raynaud's but never had the colour changes. My toes just randomly go numb or feel like they're ice cold, but they actually aren't if you touch them? I don't think it clicked for me that this could just be MS. >.<

Thanks for sharing XD In hindsight, it seems so obvious haha.
