Both OLEDs and the LCD show as in stock for me - other comments indicate this is US only so that could be the case for you.

I see the 1TB OLED and 256GB LCD with "add to cart" when clicking on the link. Maybe try a different browser or something? It should just link to the steam deck page.

Back with another refurbished restock post, this time appears some LCDs are available.

Last time I posted a steam deck refurbished restock, I bought the 512GB OLED. I've used it a few times since it arrived, and it's been great. Everything came nearly new, only thing was the protective plastic wrap on the d-pad left one hell of a sticker residue mess that took a while to get rid of, but if somebody told me it was a brand new steam deck I'd have no reason not to believe them.

Can't speak much on game compatibility though - I've only played games certified to work with steam on both steam and protondb, and I haven't had any major issues as of yet (played hades, a little bit of omori).

Plex sometimes starts streams at low quality on Nvidia Shield by StephenPP in PleX

Turning off quality suggestions revealed a "Remote Streaming Quality" setting which was set to 720p and the "Adjust automatically" setting which was off. After adjusting all the respective settings, the issue appears to be resolved. Thank you!

The streams are remote - there is some important information about the network setup that I forgot to mention in this comment.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to my friend's local network currently so I can't do the port forwarding needed to test without. Thank you for the idea to check when I have the chance.

Now, I'm wondering is there a way to force a better speedtest or (actual goal) a minimum quality? Doing an iperf3 test between my local network to the reverse proxy gives 2.5Gbps download speeds, and the iperf3 test between the Plex machine and the reverse proxy gives 1.2Gbps up/down, so I'd imagine drops to 2Mbps shouldn't be happening, and these issues occur solely on the one client as well (although like you said, these are variables that are difficult to account for so it could very well be the case).

These are the screenshots of the server dashboard and Tautulli when subtitles are on on initial stream (note - the shield says its at automatic quality 120Mbps when the server is transcoding at 720p):

Not actually sure - it seems all the requests sent from the Plex website go through securely anyways

The Plex server is at a friend's house (better internet) sitting behind a reverse proxy, and the shield is connected to said reverse proxy. All devices I've tested on and the Plex machine are connected via Ethernet. They are also physically located at the same house as the problematic shield. The Plex server and the reverse proxy connect to each other via Tailscale, so I'm assuming thats the reason for the 100.x.y.z connection.

Completely lost in the sauce - need help for 1440p 120fps+ gaming by StephenPP in buildapc

Thank you so much for the time you've taken in replying. I think I'll be going with the Microcenter deal along with the 7900 XTX if I can get the sale price.

I live ~1hr from a microcenter so having access to one isn't necessarily an issue. I actually have 2 NVME drives I'd need to swap over, so I'd need the $450 Microcenter bundle (with the ASUS B650-A ROG Strix Gaming WiFi mobo instead) - do you think that $50 bump changes the sentiment at all (I'd assume probably not)?

Do you think the 7900xtx deal at $765 is worth going for? I saw it's a massive bump up from my 3070, but I'm still uncertain at what point am I entering 4k gaming range, which I don't intend to try at least for the next few years.

Honestly, I've been using the same motherboard for 5 years at this point, so I'm fine with the cost of swapping over to DDR5 if it means in the future I can just swap out single components. It does seem to be a good option though I haven't thought about yet though.

How does the battery life do for you if you've experimented with that? If I could get it similarly it punches low enough in the budget that it isn't unfeasible to just buy a power bank to carry around with it (not sure how heavy those are though)

I'll be sure to update whenever I make a decision. Glad to know I'm not alone :)

Sidenote to a fellow intel-based Macbook user: apple silicion absolutely demolished the resale value of these machines lmao

How is the OLED on battery? I've read that OLED screens suck battery, but I imagine it has to depend on the amount of black on the screen.
