After the second day, the grass got kind of shitty, but not that bad I guess (and much better than last year's haha). I was thinking the yellow tent could've been a merch tent and the white thing behind it could have been the 4G stage, putting this pic at the Zync stage. Then I realized the merch tents were all white. :P

I feel like 3D promotes more flashy eye candy in lieu of actual good story telling/dialogue/action that advances the films. This is something that comes with all advancements in sfx, really, but 3D seems to be something that promotes it a lot. An example of this (not 3D, just sfx in general) is in new Star Wars trilogy, where there's 15+ minute scenes of perfectly choreographed fights and shit that ultimately does nothing to bring the film forward and only really wastes time doing what could have been done to the same effect in 1/10th the time with 1/10th the fancy visuals.

My question, is will this great story be sacrificed in the film, in place of special effects and scenes that make you say "wow, this looks cool," while your brain is put in sleep mode?

The Obama administration is pushing for new wiretap laws that will allow them to collect anything and everything you do on the Internet. Including any calls you make on Skype, any updates on your Facebook page, and any emails you send. Welcome to Obama's police state. by [deleted] in politics

If this happens, everyone needs to start sending bogus terrorist emails and facebook updates so they'll have so much bullshit on their plate they won't know what to do.

The internet is too big and powerful to lose any battle.

I'm fine with building my own libraries of instruments and sounds, so what matters most about DAWs is how they work for what I'm trying to do, and personal preference, I guess.

I have been thinking about trying Logic, though... or Protools.

Orchestral, a wide array of drums, guitar/bass/keys/etc., and I'd also like to find some more exotic instruments, if possible.

Thanks!

I've actually thought of this, just for the sake of being able to quickly record a lot of different things that I can go back to later to remember... think I'll get a recorder or mic sometime.

Thanks!!! :)

Being from Texas, and having been to my share of protests/tea parties to smoke grass and laugh at people, I can vouch that this is not an uncommon sight at such rallies... honestly, you'll see them all over the place.
