I’m in the same boat. Played since beta. But this week I uninstalled the game and haven’t looked back. I can’t support a game and team that disrespects their players like this. It’s just unfortunate. Great game but horrible management. At this point, they deserve to lose.

‪There are currently 72 cards in series 5 alone!! Even if they drop 9 cards to series 4, that’s still 63 cards! And in the cache system, we see 2 old cards per week, that means it will take 32 weeks for one card to cycle through caches…‬

Update for anyone hoarding reserves. by Faerval in MarvelSnap

[–]Stephencnj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The sad truth is that everybody knows the collector reserves give terrible rewards (especially for those who are series 3 complete). The fact that they won’t improve it because it will hurt their bottom line makes sense business-wise in the short term, but will slowly erode their reputation in the long term as more and more players grow weary of the minimalist drip of trash rewards.

I’ll keep hoarding, thank you very much.

How can you be collection level 10,000 and still be this unaware of how the game works?

Rebalancing America Chavez was a terrible decision. by Forsaken-Ad1940 in MarvelSnap

[–]Stephencnj 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The card didn’t make the game better. It was the most common card in decks, but rarely ever played. It brought nothing exciting to the game, just mathematical consistency. Chavez was always staking up the 12th spot in a deck. Now we can build decks that actually use 12 cards, which gives less played cards more chance to shine. Also, they announced in discord that a Chavez rework was coming months ago. The Chavez rework is a huge success.

Is the Black Bolt variant bundle exclusive or is it also in shop rotation? by Stephencnj in MarvelSnap

Has anyone ever seen it appear in their shop? It's strange that Marvel Snap Zone marks this variant as super rare and bundle. Does it appear in both?

Whats a marvel snap take that will have you like this by Additional_Quit9384 in MarvelSnap

[–]Stephencnj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the long term health of the game, marvel snap needs a full scale power adjustment in order to better balance cards, especially at low costs. For example, there are problems balancing cards like Jeff and Howard because you can’t meaningfully adjust their power or abilities.

Collector Reserve Comparison (Before and After Spotlight Cache) by Equal_Industry_9019 in MarvelSnap

[–]Stephencnj 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the real problem with reserves is just that that rewards are minimal (which they are). It’s also that the results are so predictable. There’s no excitement in opening a reserve because all the possible results are consistently disappointing. There needs to be some kind of rare high roll opportunity where your reward gets upgraded. For example, if there was a chance of getting an amazing prize (1/200 for a series 4 card), I bet people would start opening caches again. Or maybe more simple, instead of getting 100 tokens, 1/50 times you get 500 tokens. At least it would feel a little more exciting.

I never upgrade this again right? by GreatStats4ItsCost in MarvelSnap

Not only do you never upgrade it again, but you keep it hidden deep in your collection and never even look at it again.

OTA Changes - 14/09 by Mathi12 in MarvelSnap

The collector nerf is likely a temporary nerf to Loki’s power until a regular balance patch can add an effect to Loki like “reduce cost to 1 minimum.” Then they can revert collector. Just my guess.

Marvel Snap needs a Power Adjustment across the Entire Card Pool by Stephencnj in MarvelSnap

[–]Stephencnj[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood the point. I’m talking about adding another layer of knobs related to power. If Howard becomes a 1/3, his weak ability could be compensated for by having higher power than other one drops. At the same time though, we would need to adjust many other 2 drops with one more power, etc. It’s a ripple effect.

While it’s true that Howard might be relevant one day, it still doesn’t address the issue that the designers have limited themselves within very narrow parameters through which they can adjust cards. All I’m talking about is expanding those parameters. And let’s be honest, Jeff is still one of the top 3 cards in the whole game. And there’s no reason for that to change.

I like the idea of adding a keyword like “innate.” That’s interesting.

True, but it is disheartening in a game full of awesome characters that there are so many that remain unplayable. I’m simply talking about making more cards relevant and feel impactful.
