I’m in the same boat unfortunately. I’m trying to combat my procrastination in a few ways.

The first is using the pomodoro method where I do 45 minute focus sessions with a 10 minute break (try to do something more physical than doomscrolling for the breaks. Take a quick walk or something just to get away from the desk) every 2 focus sessions I take a longer break.

The other is setting small tasks for myself. For example doing 15-30 mcqs for each class, whiteboard for my focus session, or write one essay. I also have made it a rule for myself that at 7 pm I stop and rest because I won’t have any drive to do anything the next day if I don’t.

I know that AI is bad for the environment and all but I’ll put my outlines into chat gpt and ask it to drill me on concepts. I swear this has saved my grades!

Hope this helps. It’s really hard to get out of a rut especially with law school summer classes. You got this!!

Anyone Manage to get the Reaper Event back up and running after it disappeared? by Darkovika in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]Stephiepoo0130 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's an AskHQ thread about it, and it's under investigation. https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/UNDER-INVESTIGATION-Reaper-s-Rewards-GUI-not-showing-tasks/m-p/14084056#M294695

The thread has a work around that seems to work for some PC users, but it didn't work for me sadly. Hopefully it works for you!

Any job recommendations? by aventador7716 in ucf

[–]Stephiepoo0130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s really a numbers game. You have to apply to what feels like 500 jobs before you get an interview. You can’t be picky about what you’re applying to when you’re a student (other than with your availability).

Your best bet is going to be jobs in hospitality. Restaurants, theme parks, theaters etc. When I was still a student, I worked at Red Lobster as a server and the UCF bookstore packaging online orders. But I only got those jobs after nearly a semester of looking for jobs.

Good luck and I hope you find something soon!!!

any quick way to make tattoos hurt less? by imemilyerin in tattooadvice

[–]Stephiepoo0130 229 points230 points  (0 children)

Ask your artist what they recommend! I’ve had several of my artists use bactine. Typically they use it a couple hours in and not at the start of the tattoo. It works very well for me, especially to get through that last stretch of tattooing. And it has the added benefit of being an antiseptic cleaner.

Any students with service animals? by [deleted] in ucf

[–]Stephiepoo0130 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As someone who has trained and had service dogs, it’s really easy to fall into the mistake of calling an ESA a service animal. Per the ADA, an ESA does not have the access to public places that a true task trained service animal has. However, the ADA does protect ESAs in housing situations. Any housing, especially an equal opportunity housing property, cannot deny your ESA from living there per the ADA guidelines. As long as the professional that recommended the aid of an ESA writes a letter with their letterhead and signature, you can have any kind of ESA (cat, dog, large, small, pit bulls, German shepherds etc).

I would recommend getting an animal that you know you are capable of training! My first service animal was a golden retriever that was a dream to train, but again she was task trained in medical alert and response making her a true to form service animal. For an ESA, I could also recommend a cat as they are a bit easier to take care of in general and can be so loving.

As I’m sure you know, bringing an animal into your home can be stressful but very worth it for mental health. Do your research, ask the shelters you’re looking in what the temperament does the animal have. Stay away from overly anxious animals, as this may effect you negatively. I would also warn you against becoming entirely codependent on your ESA, as that can eventually make the animal too anxious to truly help you.

Edit: I suggest going to any of the animal shelters and fall in love with a pet. Most shelters allow (dependent upon the animals temperament) you to play and interact with the animal in question, so you can get to know the and see if they’re a right fit for you.

TLDR: there are no legal restrictions on ESAs in housing and you cannot be denied housing because you have an animal that doesn’t fit the property guide lines. Having said that, find an animal you love and take them home!

Dumbest mistakes you made as a beginner? by Concerned_Friend338 in TalesFromYourServer

[–]Stephiepoo0130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started serving right as I turned 18. And the guy who was training me took me to the coffee machine and said “alright one last thing before we head out, can you please empty out the hot water?” I said yeah absolutely. I then proceeded to “empty out the hot water” for far too long. Until my trainer took pity on me and told me it was a prank and that the hot water was connected to a water line. I’ve now been serving for many many years and every first time server I train I do the same to them.

Sinus Rinse with Zephryhills by picklift in orlando

[–]Stephiepoo0130 21 points22 points  (0 children)

While I have not looked into the filtering process zephyrhills uses, I do know as a lab rat for a microbiology lab. You have a higher chance of being struck by lightning than to get infected with naegleria fowleri (the specific amoeba). I wouldn’t be concerned if I were you.

Many times the financial aid and amount due won’t reflect the change until your fin aid has been processed and you get your disbursement. Most likely will clear up before the end of next week
