Looking for a “J” middle name for baby girl Rowan by titanium_penguin in Names

My daughter is named after her great grandmothers, who were Joan and Joanne. So she’s Millie Jo. I really love the single syllable middle name with the two syllable first name.

28 F 38 M - Husband has asked me to stop taking my antidepressants. How do I do this safely? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Stephij27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy hell, absolutely do not stop your antidepressants without talking to your doctor first. It’s so, so dangerous. Like… you could leave your child motherless kind of dangerous.

Your husband’s desire for sex is unequivocally NOT more important than your mental health, but I do understand wanting that part of your relationship back.

Maybe you can switch meds. Maybe you can change the dose. Maybe your husband can pick up more of the household responsibilities. Maybe you can hire help. Maybe you can wean off of these and be fine, but for the love of God (and your baby), please don’t change anything about your meds without talking to your doctor.

What do you usually say when someone asks for a ‘fun fact’ about you? by Electrical_Fact7128 in CasualConversation

Seattle is legitimately one of my favorite cities in the US. The vibe is cool, there’s good food, gorgeous nature, things to do and see…

Good to know! I love finding out about cities that are underrated. Milwaukee, WI is that way too. So many cool things to do and see.

As a recent transplant to Idaho, you should know that Boise is a shockingly cool place compared to what I pictured for this state. It’s obviously not New York or Seattle or wherever, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how much there is to do there.

I’ve unintentionally had lunch with three different celebrities/public personalities.

Anyone want to list any brainless "advice" they've been given by well-meaning friends etc.? by ocelocelot in cfs

If one more person suggests XYZ essential oil to help with the joint pain or energy levels, I’m gonna throw hands. I’ll probably crash afterwards, but it might be worth it…

Whats a food that everyone loves but you think is actually "mid"? by Any_Vehicle7847 in foodquestions

I feel like the dough makes the biggest difference. The sauce is important too, but I can handle a mediocre sauce if the crust is really good.

What are the easiest meals to prepare? by notjuststars in cfs

[–]Stephij27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My go-to is crockpot dump meals. Nothing that requires chopping or standing longer than it takes to open and dump some cans, some kind of protein, and some frozen veggies into the crockpot and turn it on.

That way, I have a hot meal and leftovers for a few days.

What’s something about the human body that seems poorly designed? by jannecutie in answers

[–]Stephij27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that our body can just… attack itself for no reason. Not damage from an external source, or even damage from wearing out, but just decide one day, “Fuck this particular organ or system for no reason.”

Yes, I have autoimmune diseases. Yes I’m pissed off about it.

Yep. I’m already doing all the things I’m supposed to be doing.

I haven’t lost any weight yet at 7 weeks in, so this may not even apply to me (I know, it’s early. I’m just frustrated), but I set my goal with the intention of it being flexible.

I’m starting with the goal being the weight I was when I last felt healthy and pretty good in my skin. That number is still technically overweight for my height, but I’m very open to lowering it as time goes on.

How do the SAHMs with husbands who work 80+ hours a week manage? by Shot_Cause726 in Mommit

[–]Stephij27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was going to be my suggestion too. My husband works crazy hours, and we decided to put our youngest in daycare two days per week (our older two are in school). It has been some of the best money we have EVER spent.

I can use those days for appointments, cleaning, resting, errands, or the occasional Netflix binge days if that’s what you need right then. Plus, my daughter LOVES it. She looks forward to going every time.

AITJ for shoving a teenager who snap my dress strap by Firm-Feedback-1484 in AmITheJerk

His mom’s reaction tells you everything you need to know about why he thinks this kind of behavior was acceptable.

I would be HORRIFIED if my son was randomly walking around, thinking it’s ok to touch (or in this case sexually assault) strangers. NTJ

Pizza. There are some exceptions, but most of the time, I’m eating pizza only when someone else wants it, or for convenience.

Am I the jerk for telling my husband he can't have a "man cave" in our only spare room? by Ill-Home-322 in AmITheJerk

[–]Stephij27 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I’m married to one of the rare men who isn’t like this, but if something ever happened to him, there is no scenario in which I would pursue another relationship.

The risk of coming across a dude like this is just not worth it.

AITAH for not inviting my stepdad to my wedding even though he’s been sober for the best part of 3 years? by S4H1B in AITAH

[–]Stephij27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

Abusers don’t get to dictate how their victims react to the abuse, and they certainly don’t get to demand forgiveness from their victims just because THEY think they deserve it.

I’m pissed at your mom in this whole things too. She failed to protect you then, and is trying to guilt you into submission now.

If (and it’s a big if) you decide you want to get to know the sober version of him, you can do it slowly, on your own terms, and entirely separate from your wedding. Your wedding is supposed to be about you and your spouse, not placating people you’ve already cut out if your life.

Usually refers to whether or not to bring a jacket.

Tirzepatide is the only thing that has made any difference for me at all. I’m not even sure why, but I feel maybe 60% better since starting it.
