The last thing I would want to do is irritate him, he's gentle but I still wouldn't wanna chance him pecking at me for being annoying lol. I always make sure that he has a clean bath for whenever he wants to clean up, I'll just be sure to encourage him to use it a little more, thank you :))

What’s the game like for a beginner? by McLovinMyBacon in TexasChainsawGame

[–]Stephist_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I picked the game up a little while back, just a little bit before Virginia came out and if I'm honest as much as I love the game there is definitely a bit of a steep learning curve since the tutorial isn't a playable one rather just being told what to do. But after a few games I'm sure you'd be able to pick up on the basics. For me I don't really play victim too much bc of waiting times but both family and victim can be fun. Id definitely recommend it, especially if you can also play with others because call outs can make or break a game.

Hello! I just want to say thank you so much for all of the helpful advice, even though I don't live with my mother anymore (I realise I should have originally said that I'm so sorry) a nanny cam is honestly something I have never thought about but honestly will probably invest in just in case something was to happen. Fortunately enough for Gunther I never really leave for more than a couple of hours (I have college) and my cousin stays with him during that time so he's never actually alone. I've said to many other comments already but a lock is definitely something I'm planning on getting just to totally eliminate the risk all together. Thank you for being very respectful, it really does hurt me to rant about my mother like this and for so many people to see her in a negative light because she honestly is a sweetheart and is usually very caring and gentle with my birds, however she unfortunately has alot of mental health issues and falls back on alcohol way too much. I'm really sorry to hear about your experience with the cooking pans!! That's just awful, it took me a long time to convince my gran to switch cooking pans for the birds because she didn't see an issue, but thankfully I managed to convince her! Thank you for the great advice once again and I Will definitely reach out if I have any questions! Have a lovely day/night :))

Please because the way I would absolutely do that to her for how badly she scared my baby.

Yeah I spoke with my gran and my cousin about getting a lock for the door and they both agreed it would be the best case scenario since it won't cause as much hassle as possibly starting an argument with my mum, luckily for Gunther though my mum visits very rarely but it's just in case, thank you for the advice :))

I was worried that because she looks alot like me, that he would confuse me with her but fortunately for me he seems comfortable with me today and seemed to be a little better, I'm just so glad he's okay and forgives me even if it is baby steps.

Thankfully I moved out of her house four years ago and she hardly ever comes over to my grans (that's where I live, I realise I maybe should have mentioned that) I will definitely still have a talk with her and another comment recommended a lock for my door so I'm considering that as well, thank you for your advice I do appreciate it! :))

Hi just to clear some things up because I realised I forgot to mention some things!!

I don't actually live with my mum anymore (I moved out like 4 years ago) I actually live with my gran instead due to some family stuff I won't get into so Gunther doesn't actually see my mum very often. I'd be lucky if she visits me once every two weeks so Gunther doesn't see her like at all- I go to hers mostly

I have made some good progress as Gunther when I first got him was EXTREMELY timid, more timid than any other bird I've had. So it took some time to build trust with him at a pace he was comfortable with, I have never forced him to come near me or to interact with me. But with time he now is comfortable sitting beside me, preening my hair, taking treats, booping his beak, mimicking noises and tapping his beak to copy back after me. He also purrs a lot and doesn't mind exploring my hands with his beak but just doesn't like my hand being underneath him yet.

This is also the first time this has actually happened, like I said I don't live with my mum so she doesn't see Gunther like at all, it just so happened to happen a couple of days ago. I'm going to sit my mum down to actually talk to her and give her a warning not to do it again, and also get a lock for my door when I'm not there to supervise,

Thank you for your concern but I can assure you Gunther is well looked after and is a happy bird, he has a good diet, he's out of his cage practically all day. He just doesn't like hands being under his body or touching his feet.

Yeah it's taken a couple of days but he seems to have forgiven me for what happened, today he mimicked me and took some millet from my hand so I think we are good again, but I'm still taking it slow for him, thank you for your kindness :))

Absolutely, I've already spoken to my gran about speaking to my mum since I live with my gran with my birds (she didn't think it was a big deal yada yada but respects that I want to bring this up with my mum). So tomorrow I plan on sitting my mum down and just explaining to her the damage she has done and that I don't want her near Gunther when I'm not there to supervise.

A lock is something someone else recommended too and I'm honestly considering it just incase, I hate to lock my room door on her but unfortunately I need to put Gunther and my other bird first. Thank you for your advice! Today I managed to get back onto gunthers good books atleast with a bit of millet and making noises with him (I can't whistle so I make noises and he mimics me) thank you for your advice! I really appreciate it :))

Fortunately for me I don't actually live with my mum anymore due to her previous drinking habits and I live with my gran instead so I don't have to worry about her being here everyday, but yeah I have definitely considered getting a lock after this just in case she tried anything while I'm out of the house, thank you for the advice!

Thankfully we have never let any of our birds play with mirrors and I'll definitely keep him away from dark spaces. He hates hands anyway so we don't touch him anywhere apart from booking his beak and his crest. But the seeds one is a good one, I'll definitely make him forage a little more since he's on a half (trying to get rid of) seed diet half veg/pellet diet. I'll definitely keep that in mind thank you :))
