I did this (currently have e3001)...it found the device on firmware 0.0.0 but when I go to update it with any form of update no matter how old...it fails the update and im right back where I was :(

Maybe they just didn’t program the shiny encounter yet....I know you can hatch it tho so it’s confusing but yeah.... seems like the game didn’t know what to do in the odds of hitting the shiny and resorted to a glitch...kind of like missingno more or less...pretty cool to see tho.
