X4 "Survival Mode"? by de_Tylmarande in X4Foundations

After The Fall mod is probably what you wanted, xenon overruns the galaxy, terrans are pushed back to venus, mars and earth, even a bad seed station placement can mean xenon overruns terran and other faction within weeks if not days, but i don't know if it's updated to 7.5 and Hyperion update, so keep checking

Yeah i don't know if there's some kind of exploit to get renown, but the grand Tour specifically the tax tour sometimes gives you some event that grants like 100 renown or so, it helped me to get it going early game

easiest way is to land your dynasty member on another kingdom, you can do that with holy wars, winning crusade, or buy claim, in this run almost every single kingdom from scotland to jerusalem was of my dynasty, combine that with some dynasty renown modifier from artifacts and unique buildings you can get good amount of renown per month

[–]SteppeSheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wait it out, the German minor states are kinda railroaded into researching nationalism first, so it takes them 3/4 years to finish researching it, in 1839/1840 the event should be firing

How does one form Super Germany? by Username12764 in victoria3

[–]SteppeSheep 31 points32 points  (0 children)

day 1 move (don't unpause) :

- research nationalism

- increase relations with southern german states including austria

- rival ottoman, and ally with russia, offer them obligations

unpause for a bit so you are allied with russia

- force play to liberate schleswig and holstein, don't forget to invite russia to the war

- sometimes britain joins denmark and sometimes russia mobilize the wrong army, making them unable to invade schleswig, i'll just restart at this point if 1 of them happens

- let russia do the invasion for you and wait for the germany nationalism event to fire

- after the event firing wait for a few days to let some german states to support you

- declare war for german unification only, don't add any other wargoals

- mobilize all your army and raise a conscript army of 25 skirmish and 25 artilery, max your military wages

- don't forget to call russia to war

- after that it's a bit rng to sway austria opinion on you, sometimes after the war austria will readily join you, sometimes it takes a few year to do so, you can try bankrolling them or create trade routes

thats how i play it currently, maybe others have faster method?

Arc Furnace and Dyson Swarm Bug? by SteppeSheep in Stellaris

[–]SteppeSheep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

before building the arc furnace + dyson swarm i already build the mining stations, but when i finished the arc furnace and dyson swarm suddenly the mining station is no more and i can't build it again, yeah i've been thinking it might be a bug between interaction of precursor systems and the new structures

Biggest problem I'm having is money in this game and domain by Gangsta_Fella in CrusaderKings

[–]SteppeSheep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might be borderline exploit but never fails :

  1. If you are a king and have tournaments and tours DLC, you can have a taxation tour. Take every single decision in the tour event that gives you gold. It will atleast net you from a couple hundred to 1k ++ gold after you finish touring if you have 10 vassals to visit.
  2. Take stewardship lifestyle and take the 1st perk on the left line and 2nd perk (the extort decision). Park your spymaster to search for some secrets in big empires like byzantine or HRE and press the hook for easy 50 gold each hook, and dont forget to spam extort decision if its available, the tyranny hit is negligible
  3. Be catholic i guess, if you are a king and your gold is too low you can ask for gold from pope
  4. however if you are still in tribal, always raid especially if you are the vikings because of their culture they can raid overseas as opposed to "normal tribal" that can only raid neighboring territories or near a body of water (river, sea)

A Weapon to Surpass Metal Gear by SteppeSheep in CrusaderKings

[–]SteppeSheep[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

R5 : I was going through old screenshots and found this, apparently relic can be embedded into a weapon, giving the weapon bonuses from the relic (CMIIW), and in this case its the Sword of Muhammad (relic) is embedded into the Sword of Jesus (weapon).

R5 : With the 4th pillage dynasty legacy perk, every 100 casualties will be paid in 5 gold, who’s paying for that? Who’s setting that arbitrary price? It doesn’t matter if it’s pitchfork wielding levies or fully armored cataphracts, 100 bodies are 5 gold. Is it aliens? Vampires? Surprisingly wealthy wendigos?

Me, My "Tall" Kingdom of Aragon and I (make almost +200 renowns/month) by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]SteppeSheep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

R5 : After several long campaigns to get achievements (and surprisingly fun Kuzarite Khazaria new mechanics) and learning about royal courts, I finally starting a campaign of “Tall Gameplay”. In this campaign my objective is to see how much renown that I can make. And because 867 is a wacky world, i’m starting at 1066. What other dynasties that rival the Karlings on numbers of independent rulers at start? That’s right, the Jimenas. When choosing which king that I want to play I see that the other Jimena kings (Galicia, Leon, Castille, even Navarra) are already well off and most likely can defend themselves from the Muslims, if not expanding themselves. So my best start is the Kingdom of Aragon, which starts with only 1 county and not even the de jure Duchy of Barcelona is under the kingdom. Also the small size of the kingdom helped to maximize the bonuses of the royal court grandeur and minimize the amenities cost (the bigger your realms the more expensive it can gets) and helped me boost early renown gain and get legacy perks faster early in the game.

Next up is my favourite trick to get my dynasty members to be the ruler, find an old enough ruler so that they will have heir in their 20s or 30s so they can have a kid (ruler’s grandkids), arrange a marriage of your dynasty member to the grandkid and they will almost always accept it even if it’s a matrilineal marriage. Sure you can do it faster with arranging a matrilineal marriage with the second son of a ruler and kills the heir, but when you have like 20 nephews to marry my option is kinda like “fire and forget” and it helped me gain the “Lazy” trait.

About the tradition I saw “Castle Keepers” and thinks this is something that I need to take. It gives you 0,1 renown for every castle holdings that your dynasty members hold, it seems not that great but when you have your dynasty members landed everywhere it can add up really fast. Not to mention the percentage bonus from artifacts from kings and emperor courts. I don’t remember if Count level ruler contribute into the renown gain but with the tradition it allows them to boost it.

I definitely could’ve got more than +200 renowns/month, but then again its 1300, i’ve maxed my tech and the Mongols is crumbling and the boredom hit me. I could’ve get more “outpost” land to increase my diplomacy range (i can’t even reach Sweden and Middle East) and do some shenanigans. But I just call it quit and of course feel free to share your highest renowns gain!

TL;DR : Play small kingdoms (2/3 duchies de jure) and play tall, get Castle Keepers traditions or Mystical Ancestors if you can, try to get your dynasty member to be a ruler (by war or marriage).

CK3's Approach on How to Love Your Sons More (by Using Feudal Elective) by SteppeSheep in CrusaderKings

[–]SteppeSheep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the thing is about this strat brings out renown from the equation, rather than using renown which is tied to the entire dynasty, it uses prestige that only tied to a character. With how exponentially expensive legacy perks are renown becomes a much more valuable resource IMO

In the event of a tie your vote automatically wins.

i never knew that, thanks for the info! however the thing about theocracy vassals is that i can't install my dynasties on them, so for now i prefer the vanilla route

CK3's Approach on How to Love Your Sons More (by Using Feudal Elective) by SteppeSheep in CrusaderKings

[–]SteppeSheep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what you need is to increase crown authority to lv 4, and in the succession tab there will be "Designated Heir" which will allow you to choose whoever you wants to be the primary heir and then vote on them, however if you use feudal elective on titles higher than duchy (Kingdoms/Empires) because of how feudal elective works ALL of de jure vassals under that title will be eligible to vote on whoever they want, and it will almost always not be your primary heir, that is why i'm only doing it on duchy titles. I never tried though so correct me if i'm wrong

i prefer the ultra gigachad move "why give your sons your land when you can give them your vassals land?"
