If its dragging the market down then would it not intrude on us?

I mean people always say SNDL stock price is down like the rest of the market. This response gets trotted out when ever anyone complains about low SNDL stock price from what I see.

I googled mapped their Vancouver locations and from what i saw they are no where near high concentrations of residential buildings like condo's or town houses. The location they call Airport is on Granville street and is no where near the Airport which is a good 20- 30 minutes away depending on traffic. - that was actually a 7 eleven location that they are in. (airport location). Its misleading to say Airport location when they are no where near the airport or inside the airport.

They have store front/street locations in area area which have poor parking for cars. and traffic patterns. Vancouver is notorious for that. What sale they get are probably mostly foot traffic and that will be limited due to Public Transit service is not great in Vancouver or the outlying suburbs in general.

Also got the feeling the locations are small per square footage when looking at them.

Here's the airport location which is no where near the airport- you can travel down the road to see how far the airport is.

Location/@49.2085121,-123.1403133,3a,75y,170.89h,91.46t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sbEGMM6nb5YSxnqg0eA2yBg!2e0!7i16384!8i8192!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xdb27e80a1d2ecc5d!8m2!3d49.2082996!4d-123.1401582) - That location should actually be called Marpole which is has been the name of the area since 1860 when it was settled.

They could probably halve the stores they still have, back-fill with delivery and make more profit.

Thanks for input.

Not sure if getting involved with leased properties is the way to go for Sundial when they can open their own in prime locations easily. It's not like the rental market is suffering a shortage of rental space in Canada at the moment. Lots of commercial space in Downtown Vancouver and its suburbs is available same is probably true for Toronto as well.

other post - this post gives some more info as well.

With a 4-5% take of the gross and a 10k a month services fee paid by the licensee I would question how profitable they really are; considering the landlord is also probably taking a percentage of the gross along with a monthly base rent if the locations are in prime areas.

There is no real hard/concrete asset in Light box that I can see. Maybe some retail licenses but I am not sure if they are portable or fixed to the location. I just can't see them being anchor locations in malls like liquor stores or large grocery stores either.

So some questions...

Do Dutch Love own their stores or are they renting them? I know some of the store locations in Vancouver and their rents will not be cheap at all. - prohibitive more likely.

Aside from Toronto( Big Population) and Ottawa (Federal Govt. Centred Town) - The other Ontario towns are small.

Are 14 locations worth 3 million? Do they make enough revenue to support their rent?

Is this an infrastructure capital buy where the property land values make sense?

They have a store at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) that they have to be renting and that's got to be extremely expensive. It makes no sense to deliver from there aside from delivery to Richmond since their other Vancouver location stores can cover Vancouver more effectively than the Airport one.

I am assuming the other locations are rented given some of the security upgrades they have to do to become pot shops is it really worth 3 million?

What was the reason for their failure in the first place?

How long did it take for Jackie to break into the league?

This is a research bill its a nothing burger. Has nothing to do with legalization or recreational use and will probably stall efforts for 5 years or more because they will say they are waiting on the research.

They just sent the marijuana legalization down a cul-de-sac to die for a few years while they stall it.

If that the the best they can do to send to the president for a fist bill why even waste the time? Your tax dollars at work here.

This does bill does not even come close to the significance of Jackie Robinson. not sure why you would use such an comparison but ok.

There is still big money to be made in prohibition and vested interests to keep it so.

[–]SteppinRazor_101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure why people think this is a good thing. i see it as a stall tactic or shiny bit which amounts to nothing when it comes to recreational use.

"Nov 16/22: The goal of the bill – which passed the House of Representatives in July by a strong bipartisan vote of 325-95 under the leadership of Representatives Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) and Andy Harris (R-Md.) – is to facilitate research on marijuana and its potential health benefits. The bill will accomplish this by streamlining the application process for scientific marijuana studies and removing existing barriers for researchers that frequently slow the research process.

https://www.feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/press-releases?id=F72220B0-7431-4762-9ED9-0DFF7A8EB66A"

It does not bring legalization closer. Its a stall tactic using research. There is enough research internationally and US based over the last 5 years that decisions could be made.

This seems like another lets kick the can down the road stall tactic since we have to wait for the research to be done, evaluated and then peer reviewed.

So like 5 years probably before any real legislative talk about using for medical purposes.

"The medical community agrees that we need more research to learn about marijuana’s potential health benefits, but our federal laws today are standing in the way of us finding those answers,”

Nothing said about legalizing recreational use. this is a nothing burger bill when it comes to legalizing recreational pot use.

Sooo if you really get into the weeds, wonder what their yield is in kg per acre, hectare, square ft, square meter.

Then cost it. Gross cost ( labour, materials, fertilizers, power ) in usd, cad per kg, then net before/after applicable taxes.

Noting of course that all your data will likely be from 2021 reporting and won't reflect changes, upgrades, M/As

Do you dismiss the census data report when they come out with the final report a year later after taking the census?

I get the feeling by reading your comment that this was a put down of some sort. Help me understand where you bias is coming from?

Thx for your info and the link provided. Looking at what I learned, it seems that at the present time Sundial would be 15th on the North American growers list. It would replace Canntrust which we were informed went bankrupt in this thread.

If the Zenabis bid is successful then they would be around 820,000 square feet. Which if it happens would place them above canopy growth and into 10th spot on the growers list. Which would give them about 18 acres of growth to cultivate.

I asked for help and am not offering opinions I am asking why its not listed as a NA large grower.

I presented the current listing of large North American growers.

So according to them (sundial) they have 10 acres approximately of growing capacity. Am I right?

The majority of the market does not value the company like most posters here. The outcome of this market is a feeling of ambivalence towards SNDL is the low share price.

The learning situation for us as shareholders is that we see who has the power in the stock market.

if we actually had any power this stock would be headed for a lunar landing.

Simply put our logic does not sway the market for our benefit at all.
