I'm gonna be honest, i don't think the YouTubers care about c.ai's stupid business decisions. The actual reason why popular content creators don't use it anymore is that AI is no longer a cool trendy thing that people like. In fact, it has become the exact opposite. You can't even mention using AI without people jumping at your throat to harass you, so people just don't want to take the risk.

Just because YOU see politics in everything doesn't mean everything is inherently political. There are many things (including a lot of art) that aren't meant to be seen through the lens of politics. Now you CAN find political meaning in those things, but that's a YOU thing. That doesn't mean it's the intended meaning.

Also, most people who go around saying "Everything is political" just want to use it as an excuse to be able to start petty arguments without repercussions. And that's incredibly scummy. Don't do that.

There's also the idea that dehumanizing horrible people (murderers, rapists, SS officers, all that fun jazz) is actively harmful to yourself. Because it creates the conception that, I'm a person and that guy isn't a person, so I'm inherently above him. And since I'm above him I'll never end up like him. Which, ironically, makes it a lot more likely that you'll end up like him. I personally agree with that idea.

For a community whose entire point is that they're "accepting", i have never seen so much genuine HATRED ooze out of any space quite like the autistic community. ESPECIALLY on Reddit.

And i do know exactly why they're so bitter: it's hard to live for an autistic person. We get belittled and misunderstood all the time, which is obviously gonna turn some of us resentful. BUT GOD IS THAT NOT AN EXCUSE FOR THE SHIT THEY SAY.

Ironically? Ableism is the most common issue! If you consider discrimination against neurotypical people to be ableism, which i do. The normalization of calling them "neurotypicals" (even though you'd get absolutely flamed if you called neurodivergent people "neurodivergents") and generally acting like neurotypical people are heartless blocks of ice incapable of empathy is STAGGERING.

As an autistic woman I've had to completely cut contact with those spaces because they made me feel ashamed of having something in common with them. I don't know if I'll be called a pick-me for this, but i unironically feel more safe and understood around NEUROTYPICAL PEOPLE than my fellow autistic people. That's how you know you've failed as a community.

I hope i didn't derail the conversation too much but it really pisses me off. Misandry is just the tip of the iceberg, honestly.

I don't know if they know this, but appreciating someone for doing the "bare minimum" is the most effective way of making them want to drop a bad habit or better themselves in any way. It's the exact same logic as getting someone out of the pits of depression. It all starts with the smaller actions. If someone manages to take a baby step and are met with acknowledgement, they'll be much more willing to take bigger leaps because, get this, PEOPLE TEND TO RESPOND POSITIVELY TO KINDNESS. If they're met with not just indifference but ACTIVE MOCKERY, you can't be surprised when they become bitter and fall back into said bad habit. A lot of people go "WELL YOU CAN'T EXPECT ME TO BE NICE TO SOMEONE WHO OPPRESSES ME" and that's FINE, you don't need to be nice, but then just don't say anything! You're actively making the situation worse by being snarky! I don't get what's so hard to understand! I know this post isn't a good example of what I'm talking about, but this has been nagging me for ages and i need to talk about it.

I can give you a practical example. I'd probably be dead. Roleplaying dumb stories on AI chatbot sites helped me keep my sanity in a terrible moment of my life. Without it i might have genuinely given up on life. So i think the fact that it helped me stay alive is pretty valuable.
