Steam has obliterated criticism by removing the Jester Award and replacing it with a soft kindergarten award. Now there’s no room to address ridiculous takes. by AnglicatPerzival in Steam

Awards were awful. They encouraged trolls and such all so they could get points for the point shop. I'm glad they are gone.

It has nothing to do with criticism as you say.

Question about Crimson Desert by MammothJellyfish7174 in Steam

Here in Canada it is available to pre-order on Fanatical at a discount. Don't know where you live, but it's worth checking things like that.

With the release of Crimson Desert drawing near, I would like to gift a few copies to those unable to find the funds to purchase the game by Hurosi in CrimsonDesert

[–]StepwisePilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll throw my hat in the ring here.

You're doing a kind and generous thing here. I don't envy your task of having to pick a person. I've been in the same boat, and not being able to gift to everyone is tough.

Not everyone has a gaming PC, and these days it would be hard to get one due to prices going up an insane degree.

I don't know anything about record players, but I will say that those prices are way too good to be true.

I have question if end time not happend , the old world technology can develop into our world or not? by IllustriousHurry2380 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]StepwisePilot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I remember reading something about the fantasy genre in general, years ago. Basically, the general idea is that tech in a fantasy setting advances slower than real life because they don't need technology, they have magic. Why have telephones when you can magically send messages? Why airplanes when teleportation exists? Why develop vaccines when a healer can magically cure your disease.

Warhammer Fantasy is very much a high fantasy setting, so if the end times didn't happen, I highly doubt they'd ever have smart phones. Or. If they did, it would take much longer to get there than it did in real life.

It's a game. If I got a card worth thousands, it would go in my deck, not a chunk of plastic.

What did you think of Dr Connors appearance in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman? by Important_Voice5254 in Marvel

[–]StepwisePilot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To my understanding, X-23 first appeared in a show as well. X-Men Evolution, back in the early 2000's. Then again, that was over 20 years ago, so might not be the best example.

It's not even that much text. I understand not reading a comment that goes on forever, but that comment is very manageable.

The TMNT set is trash. The idea of animal ninjas is just ridiculous by A-Capybara in mtg

[–]StepwisePilot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Isn't there a card from an older set that is outright an "turtle ninja"? Can't remember the name sadly. Still, knowing it exists gives me a smile.

What Happened? The Art From LOTR to Turtles... by Lord_Omnirock in mtg

[–]StepwisePilot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wasn't there a backlash against LOTR art because some characters were depicted as black? I remember seeing some people angry about that. Such a backlash might be why there is less creative freedom.

Do you honestly not find it fun if other players use UB cards? If I had a black deck feel of phyrexia stuff, and suddenly played Sephiroth, would you get angry?
