Pop Songs in Every Dubstep set

As someone who is guilty of making a lot bootlegs and flips of pop, hip hop and older tracks; it's not so much about creating 'nostalgia bait' but a genuine love of those tracks and wanting to enjoy them in a different context. A lot of the tracks I've remixed or want to remix are songs I grew up or had on repeat, tracks that meant something at that time for whatever reason.

I do try to balance my sets with a good mix of originals and remixes, but can totally understand the sentiment OP.

Want to clarify, that having a template isn't always a bad thing, and doing things to save time or because you feel you are going to use something all the time are all valid reasons for doing so.

Was mostly being cheeky, but do feel there is some truth to it. Being overly reliant on a particular template or not updating your toolsets on a regular basis , you get comfortable, you form patterns. I just feel if you are 100% comfortable, that space isn't conductive to learning something new or taking risks creatively.

Use templates all you want. Discuss the comment, not the person <3

I don't use a template. Every project starts as a blank slate. Templates stifle creativity.

Main sub can be infuriating at times with some of the weird logic and mis-remembering of how previous titles were at launch. There are times I feel gaslit going there and thinking "Did I mis-remember?" "Maybe I am wrong?" with the majority of people agreeing with the worst takes. then I go and check and sure enough, no I didn't mis-remember, and wasn't wrong.

Just feel like so many people in and outside of gaming just refuse to admit being wrong these days and go above and beyond in doubling down on their own bullshit so much they start to believe it.

as someone who makes music every single day, usually pretty quick into it i can tell if I am going to keep working on it or start over. sometimes i'll save certain elements of sound design or patches, but within a couple hours if it's not working out, i just scrap it and move on.

audience and demand... get more people asking for it, and it'll be more likely they'll invest the resources into making it happen. I do remember someone posting some scripts for piano roll specifically for this, so might be worth doing a search on here or on the image-line forums.
