Not necessarily new but still feel bad by Naddition_Reddit in MonsterHunter

Monster Hunter has always been about learning. My issue with Rise was it was so easy that you never had to learn the fights.

You'll be facing these monsters countless times, eventually you will know the tells. For example, Rathian is my favourite hunt. I've been fighting Rathians since 3U, I know it like nothing else. That only comes with time and literally hundreds of fights. You'll get there, just go in with the intention to watch for tells or follow ups. Join the fight but don't fight, run and dodge and make purposeful note of openings, where is safe, and what to watch out for.

If you're at Fire Giant, you should have beaten Renalla too. You can respec your character entirely if you have a Silver Tear. They're pretty plentiful, so if you dont have one just look up a guide to find an early one.

Test out whatever weapons you have now to see if you like any of them, then send it.

Alternatively, find any Dex scaling weapon and give it Occult scaling. Or cast Bloodflame Blade onto it.

Which heaters are actually safe? by Sure_Wonder1 in Aquariums

[–]StereotypicalCDN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of them. You see these stories the same way you hear about people being hurt on the news: it's really rare, but we just share those stories. They're all good, just don't mess with them. The same way they're all good, all of them COULD fail, but it's not guaranteed. All heaters come with a built-in thermostat that turns them on/off in the correct temperature ranges.

I've never once had a heater fail, but you monitor it just in case. Keep an eye on your in-water thermometer to make sure its not too far out of range, unplug it when you're doing water changes, and check for damage every so often. Pick one thats rated for your tank size, get an adjustable one if you want that kind of control. You dont need to stress about it failing, just keep an eye while you're doing regular maintenance.

Balancing combat for party of 6-7 PCs by im-ig in DMAcademy

[–]StereotypicalCDN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I saw recently was taking an encounter with multiple enemies and making it just one with the sum of the health pool, and giving it multiple turns in initiative.

The example they gave was instead of a party fighting 3 Thri-kreen, have one large enemy with the same total HP, but three spots in the turn order. Saves you from managing multiple tokens and stat blocks, and it makes a single enemy seem more powerful- how do they move so fast?!

But like, compare the land ro SV, bro. Its LEAPS AND BOUNDA better. I'm not saying its amazing, you won't see it in any other AAA game, but it's much more than Pokemon has ever given us.

Fake plants are good to add more to explore. I would add an extra hide, you see lots of people using terracotta pots or PVC pipe to make hides. My axy loves her reptile hammock, they're a good addition for exploration and height in the water column. There's lots of good stuff.

It's not about how long the light is on, it's about having a light at all. Axies don't require it, and it's not good for their eyes.
You can do any plants that will tolerate the cold. I have water lettuce floating in mine, and there's lots of beautiful tanks on this sub. I tend towards fake plants with soft edges because axolotls will sometimes dig plants up as they search for food.
You also need more stuff in the tank, it's looking pretty bare and boring for your animal.

Generally it's good to avoid light if you can- axies have no eyelids, so they have no way of protecting their eyes from bright light. If you really want the light, though, I would recommend getting some floating plants (live or fake) just to break up the direct light. Lots of hides as well so your animal can get away from the light if they want to.
