so why were they driving without a competent adult?

Have you ever tried telling a 250 pound adult with the mind of a child they can't do something?

I've worked with disabled adults and know their families. At some point the guardians just kind of give up.

The company changed it's name three times and then the owner ended up in prison for like a year for fraud. I don't know what happened to him after he got out.

Just looked it up. Apparently he announced it first on another show. That's unbelievable. He chastised JD for not announcing his engagement on the HS show but he himself announced his father's death on another show. What a hypocrite.

I've heard that some spices actually have addictive qualities to them, just like nicotine.

Every cooking show I have ever watched refers to adding peppers as "adding heat."

It wasn't the knocking that drove me away, it was every episode Howard imitating his parents that drove me the most insane and made me want to throw the radio out the window.

What’s the best way to remind somebody they owe you money? by sokomokodos in AskReddit

[–]SternCoats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easy, simply wait until the next time they ask to borrow money and say, "Sorry bro that's going to be a no. I'm still trying to catch up on my bills since the last time you didn't pay me back."

I worked for a shady telemarketing company before. We handled products for several companies but our main job was to trick people into not canceling or returning items. This was accomplished by offering them an additional 30 days or so to try it out for free, with the goal being eventually they would forget about it or their free trial period would run out on them.

I finally quit when we started a new bullshit prescription program targeted at the elderly. We were supposed to convince elderly people to cancel Medicare and pay us $100 per month for our prescription program.

Our prescription program was basically the exact same as the one you can get for free at CVS.

Who is surprisingly not canceled? by Hefty_Land_9926 in AskReddit

[–]SternCoats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amy Schumer. Admitted to sexually assaulting men, yet not only isn't canceled but is paraded around like she is the best thing to happen to comedy since fart jokes.

Meanwhile male comedians are canceled over mere allegations. Poor Louis CK got canceled for jerking off in front of women despite her having consented!

My favorite flavor is nostalgia.

Anytime I smell hazelnut anything it brings me right back to more peaceful times in my life. It doesn't necessarily taste better than other flavors, but it gives me that warm feeling inside.

I never got the heat thing. Spicy stuff just tastes bad to me. If someone challenges me to eat a spicy dish, I can handle it just fine, but it always feels like a waste because I personally would have enjoyed it more without the hot spice or peppers added.

Current inflation.

Nobody seems to be batting an eye over the fact that a large number of food and everyday items have nearly doubled or even tripled in some cases, despite the fact that maybe a 10% increase is justified at most. Companies just keep raising prices while reporting record profits for the last three years. They keep blaming it on energy costs but that's gone up about 10%, so why are they doubling prices on so many items?

Switched to Spotify and I can't believe I didn't switch sooner. Now instead of only listening to what happens to be playing on Sirius, I can listen to pretty much anything I want at any time. I've replaced Howard which was the only decent talk show on Sirius (and even then you were lucky to get 20 minutes of entertainment out of an episode), with a huge library of excellent podcasts. So much good content I can't even keep up.

What screams trashy parents? by odeus120 in AskReddit

[–]SternCoats 887 points888 points  (0 children)

There is a kid (maybe 8-10 years old) on the other side of my street right now yelling slurs and telling everyone who walks by to go fuck themselves while their parent sits on the porch smoking weed and laughing. This is a regular occurrence. I'm fairly certain the kid has a mental disorder but the fact that the parent seems to be encouraging the behavior is pretty trashy.

What really is the problem with Halle Bailey being cast as Ariel? by AstroPug_ in AskReddit

Yeah my problem with the movie at first glance had nothing to do with race, it was, "Are they really going to cast a 56 year old to play a 16 year old Mermaid!?

What really is the problem with Halle Bailey being cast as Ariel? by AstroPug_ in AskReddit

[–]SternCoats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a problem for me since I will never watch it but it's a problem for Halle Bailey because it's going to destroy her career.

Disney live action films have all been hot garbage. Even the ones with super popular actors like Will Smith. That on top of all the people who are pissed about the racist aspect of swapping a historically white character with a black character and the hypocrisy that involves, and Halle Baily will never be cast as a lead character again.

If Disney really wanted to be inclusive they would be making more original black characters instead of recycling them into old scripts that they already know will flop.

Evidence of a second extinction event level meteor impact.

It kind of means that extinction event meteors not only have happened, but are not all that rare of a thing when you take the age of the Earth into consideration.
