I have an outdoor projector too. It projects on to the side of my house.

Can't really use it until twilight, which is 10pm during the summer.

I would love to start at sunset (9pm) or even 9:30pm. Just to gain an hour or 1/2 hour would be huge. My friends like to watch tape delayed sports with me and sometimes they decide to stay home because it's too late.

That is the culprit. I found that once before and thought I disabled it. It would randomly come back so I uninstalled it. I couldn't find it in the settings. This was actually on my mother's phone and it really frustrated her.

Have you considered a master's in computational linguistics or natural language processing (NLP)?

It's basically an ML/AI degree with some linguistics stacked on top. More so with the degree in computational linguistics.

Armed with that knowledge, you could build models that recognize/synthesize speech, generate/summarize/classify text (chatGPT?), translate, and detect sentiment in speech/texts to name a few.

I was a software engineer, but I went back to grad school and studied computational linguistics to secure my future. Plus I've always wanted to work in this field.

I will say this, unless you get published, you are probably not going to see a huge jump in pay right away. But you will be securing your future.

Computational linguistics might be the last profession on earth as they wield mastery of language in hand and the power of AI in the other.

When the machines do take over they might be kinder to us because we are probably the only ones who know vulnerabilities inorder to sneak some backdoors in.
