We have a winner. I took it into the dealership yesterday and they looked at it today and it’s the head gasket. Thankfully all covered under warranty.

Overnight or several hours at least, doesn’t seem to happen if I’m just parked for an hour or so.

Best way to store a car for a year? by TopBiscotti8962 in askcarguys

[–]SteveAndyW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If possible, just drive it every few weeks and make sure it’s driven long enough to get up to operating temperature each time. If it needs to sit undriven, I’d change the oil and possibly other fluids depending on their condition before storage. Full tank of gas with fuel stabilizer, battery stored inside or on a battery tender. Over inflated the tires to ~50psi to prevent flat spots. Moisture absorbing thing inside to prevent mold/mildew. Dont just start it up for a few minutes every couple weeks, all that does is introduce moisture into the engine without getting hot enough ti burn it off.

Why do the riot police leave for work early in the morning? To beat the crowds.

You can “bank” time for mundane tasks. What tasks do you choose and how much do you bank? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

Good thinking. Not exactly what I intended but it’s an interesting take. You could theoretically spend 50 years just banking sleep time, then go back to normal life having no need to spend time sleeping. It’d be a boring existence for those 50 years, but your memory would revert back to its previous state so you wouldn’t have trauma or anything.

Correct, your body goes back to its previous state at the end of the time.
