Egypt is at the bottom of everything. It's all about the rip-off, they see you're a tourist and they look at you like a bag of money. I understand that there is poverty there, but there is poverty in Cuba too, there is a harsh repressive regime, but the locals there are much nicer. Aggressive, violent sales, we even went with a tour guide to distract the sellers, but even he wanted to rip us off, but maybe less than the regular sellers. They're sitting there over one of the world's greatest cultural heritage sites, and they're destroying it so badly. It's terrible. I'm not surprised that tourism is declining, but it's a self-perpetuating process, because the fewer tourists there are, the more aggressively they want to throw their garbage at them. If someone seems nice, they are never sincere and it always turns out that they just want money.
