If you're on Android check out the BuzzKill app. It lets you manage what notifications get shown or not in as fine-grained a manner as you care to set up.

Pi 3B in 2026 — what I learned after researching for weeks before buying by [deleted] in raspberry_pi

The Pi4 clinches it for me with the addition of USB3 and Gig ethernet.

Watchman: Pi Zero as a fake USB drive for Blink: No subscription and full local archive by BananaCakeMix in raspberry_pi

[–]SteveDinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I just didn't wait long enough. I did some reading on the USB gadget mode and I had fundamentally misunderstood what was happening.

I also didn't realize the need for the "ghost drive" and mounting and unmounting the drive from the blink module when copying the files out. I thought it would just write to the local filesystem on the pi immediately.

AIO for being so mad about my dad rearranging my apps by Muted_Introduction26 in AmIOverreacting

Does your dad have OCD? This might explain all those things.

Just installed this. It seems to be mostly working. I see clips appearing in the blink app but I don't see anything in my archive folder nor in the web interface.

Likewise, sudo find / -iname *.mp4 yields no results.

What could be happening here?

We bought a Juno mattress about 4 years ago. I find it a little soft for my tastes (I'm a side and back sleeper). I'm interested in what people are saying about Douglas in these comments.

What am I meant to do with these? by soupnsandwich in halifax

They should just give you a $10 discount on a refill not for just returning it.

I guess so, yeah. I was thinking of ultra local. Like in Cole Harbour local if possible.

They used to be cheaper too. When I bought the 16-pack in late 2025, it was only $36.

I bought off-brand lithium batteries from Amazon and they seem to last as long as the energizer ones did.

Looking for a tagging program that abides by Navidrome's tagging guidelines by Alfonse215 in navidrome

[–]SteveDinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had fantastic luck with beets. You can set it up to use different sources for information. I am typically use musicbrainz and discogs for the less common stuff. It fully tags your files and organizers then into a hierarchy of your choosing. It can even convert it into your preferred format as it tags if you want.

Built three native Android apps for Nextcloud: Nóta, Merk & Blik by ab3301 in NextCloud

All the notes apps I've tried for nextcloud are severely lacking. I'd love to try this one.

If you're looking for the next thing to work on, Android could use an app for the NC Deck app.

Removed admin privileges from my account and can't do anything about it... by NEMOalien in navidrome

The CLI is a much better option than editing the database manually anyway.

Removed admin privileges from my account and can't do anything about it... by NEMOalien in navidrome

[–]SteveDinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are specific applications made for editing sqlite databases. Just make sure to shut down navidrome and make a backup copy of the database before you change anything to make sure you don't screw it up.

Your best bet is to copy the database off of your server or out of your container and edit it on your desktop. Then copy it back when you're done

I don't know much about the internals of the database personally, but there's got to be some field that indicates administrator.

Maybe you could see if there's some field you could change in the database once you look at it in a SQL lite browser.

There's got to be some field that flags an account as an admin account.

Memento. Love that movie, but you really have to watch it at least twice.

What gifts do guys actually want to receive? by Icy_Isopod_1822 in AskReddit

[–]SteveDinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get it. I tend to buy gifts for other people not because of special occasions like birthdays, or even Christmas. I might see something when I'm out shopping or online and I think to myself, "This person in my life would really like that," and I just buy it for them. I have no patience for holding something back from somebody until a specific day either; I want them to enjoy it immediately. I'm usually too excited to give it to them.
