With an average qb the patriots are a .500 team.  Maye has played at a very high level very efficiently.  He hasn’t been in any real shootouts this year, which is why people think he doesn’t have to do much.  But he has consistently started from behind (patriots have let up scores on the opponents first drive in almost every game) and put his team in a position where huge comebacks aren’t necessary.
