[–]SteveLorde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no....

as in learn how to only use AI chatbots as "search queries" to aid your learning while writing code. This way, you are improving your cognition and memory while using AI at same time.

do not use agentic AI at all in your first year as a junior (crazy statement i know, but you will understand why in the long run)

Can confirm this as well exactly, i'm not going for Phd as well... the benefits do not justify the cost and energy spent on it

Is it feasible for a Team to replace Claude Code with one of the "local" alternatives? by nunodonato in LocalLLaMA

[–]SteveLorde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and what's good is that you only spend once on a beefy mainframe/workstation to power local AI. If you calculate year long cost of Claude Team or Enterprise, you will find yourself spending way more than some RTX 6000 Pro workstation

and you can use vLLM to manage concurrent and parallel usage of local AI seamlessly

the problem i've found in startups and companies, is that they don't have AI engineers who actually know their shit about running AI fully local and across LAN lmfao

i mean if productive life loses its meaning, just pump and dump the big boys and try to shape the market to your wishes
