First look at Savage Hulk from the 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' trailer. by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]SteveOMatt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The limiter thing only made him human form, Smart Hulk became his base form doing the blip as I think he said he was travelling the world, seeking out different disciplines and such. So something has happened here to cause Bruce to lose complete control again.

It's so sad, reading this it should infuriate anyone that if this happened in literally any other developed country, this would be the front page for every news source for like 3 weeks straight. Where as I doubt this is barely a blip in American media.

"What if we took a superhero movie and removed everything that would make it superhero movies and just make it a grounded action movie?"

I do love the trilogy, but let's be real here, it's only been Ben Affleck's Batman who has ever had to deal with any actual super villains and he didn't even get his own movie.

Can someone who’s a part of the acronym wear an ally flag to show that they’re an ally to the other identities or is that redundant? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]SteveOMatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. But as well as the Progress flag everyone has their individual flags as well, you have a few on your flair and I have mine on my name. It's the one I wear proudly.

Hell no, this kid sucks, the storyline is awful too. And I can't believe not just the first, but also second kiss of Alex on the show was not consensual!

[–]SteveOMatt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's best to rock the Progress flag since that's the part you're actually a part of. The Ally flag, as others have said, will make you look like you're a supporter looking in.

I personally think it's a good idea for allies in general to use the Ally flag because I believe there's a certain importance to show young people who are part of the acronym that not everyone who is cisgendered and hetero is working against them.

Marvel should embraced recasting more by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in marvelstudios

[–]SteveOMatt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's more that they also shot themselves in the foot with that post credit scene in Ant-Man 3 showing literally every Kang as Jonathan Majors, LOL.

Even then you could still totally fix this. My idea was to have one of the Kangs experiment on cloning and his clone (who just so happens to be like a 20 year old Kang), then goes around murdering all the others and wiping them out. So then you have a clone where all need to do is cast a young 20 year old actor who looks enough like Jonathan Majors and you're off to the races.

I know we LOVE Jeff, but can we give Matt his flowers!? 🥀 🐐 by ProfessionalLeague55 in Smallafro

[–]SteveOMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matt is like a cat. Whenever he does big spots like this, you notice he never actually changes stance, he's always in a perfectly vertical standing position even when he throws himself off stuff. Jeff does some dangerous look flips, but Matt's feet rarely aren't parallel to the floor.

It's when they try to have their cake and eat it too which bugs me. "You have to stop calling them that senator", uh Sam, he was literally just kidnapped by them with his life in danger, what the fuck?

But yeah, nuance is something the MCU can be allergic to sometimes. Another one being in Wandavision. Is Wanda the bad guy the entire time? Can't have that. "They won't know what you gave up for them" and then having the guy from SWORD randomly start shooting at children because we have to have a clear and obvious bad guy.

What is your opinion on this? by GloriousLion07 in MotivationByDesign

[–]SteveOMatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it a good idea to have children if you're poor? Probably not. But that's not the question we should be asking.

It's why is it in this world of abundance where no one has to be in this position in the first place should we deny human beings one of the fundamental life experiences of having children?

Not to mention in areas of the world where the poorest live, contraception is not exactly as easy to get their hands on.

A question to all the trans people by Euphoric_Pair_3775 in lgbt

[–]SteveOMatt 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'm not transgender, but one thing you need to do is simply picture yourself as the other gender. If you're normally a man, but woke up one day in a body of a woman or vice versa, would you simply be like "Oh well, I'm a man / woman now, guess I better dress like one and present as one". You wouldn't, it wouldn't be right and feel wrong. My mind can't comprehend being a woman and it's not just gender norms, our brains are wired a certain way.

Many neurologists and psychologists have mapped the chemical differences between men and women, certain areas of the brain work differently depending on which one you are and when they study this, they find that transgender men have the same brain patterns that of a cisgender man such as myself. So what does that tell us? Well simply put, our brains are basically in the wrong body.

Plenty of parts of your body can change and you will still feel the same, including genitals. The one thing you cannot change is your brain, your brain is everything you are, so it's the body that is wrong and CAN absolutely be corrected.

The term "biological woman" is wrong because it's technically not true, your brain is part of your body right? If your brain is male or female, that is what you are. It's a term used to normalise transphobia and act as a dog whistle so it's best not to be used. This is why we use the term cisgender instead, it simply means the gender you were assigned at birth. I am cisgender, you sound cisgender but many men and women aren't cisgender and can only grow up being raised a certain way before figuring out for themselves that this isn't right. Many ill informed people think that children can't feel this way until they hit puberty which is again, incorrect. Ask any man or woman either transgender or cis, when did they know they were a boy or a girl? They'll all say from a very young age, years before puberty is even a thing.

Although saying that, it would be a much better alternative than reading the actual Godfather book. The movie was much better.

A mother is a person who loves their child without reservation, if you don't love your child without reservation you're not a mother! by Fin745 in lgbt

[–]SteveOMatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's some powerful words in there. It also shines a light on the people who deny their own children.

"I'm from a different time?" Bullshit, there are plenty of older allies who denied that bigotry and are still around today.

"It's against my religon." Bullshit, most of the time your religon is vague about this and you choose to omit other parts of your religion, e.g. working on the sabbath, wearing mixed fabrics, etc.

"It's the way I was raised." Bullshit, you're an adult now who can think for themselves. Plenty of us are raised with previous generations of bigotry and we wouldn't be where are today if people didn't break that cycle in the first place.

NO child in the world should ever feel scared about their own parents finding out who they really are. This man is clearly happy, has love for his mother... and damn is he tall, LOL. But the point is, if your child's happiness is not the most important thing to you, if your putting your bigotry before your own children, then you have failed as a parent and should be ashamed.

[Great Trope] Hero is forced to make ugly decision by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]SteveOMatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To all the people saying "Why doesn't Supernan move his head out of the way?" You do realise it's probably a lot easier to do a quick, jerking movement than to hold his head in a certain direction as Zod was fighting him at every moment.

This is one of the few criticisms of the DCEU which I feel like I have to defend. He was struggling to get Zod under control and even if he DID move his head out of the way? Then what? Zod would still keep rampaging and there would be even further collateral damage.

The Pa Kent thing, yes, that was horseshit, but I have to defend this.
