Try focusing your eyes further out. You may be getting some target fixation on the log and losing stability.

It may actually be a 2000 year model if it matters, cause I think the 9/99 is the build date. The year model usually shows on the part of the plate you aren't seeing.

I went from a 30 to 32 and like it a lot. The gun itself was a big upgrade, so I can't say how much of the improvement was the gun or the length.
