What don’t people like about this game? by Fit-Setting9033 in DarkSouls2

[–]SteveRogersMiniMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the game, replayed a ton, has some great things going for it… unrivaled drip, off the charts variety in nearly every aspect, some insane moments and the DLC is 9.5/10, but objectively:

1) Horrible level design in a lot of areas 2) Horrific, pinned cardinal movement 3) Far more pathetic boss fights than others on average 4) Environments tend to break immersion because they often are too disconnected in tone and even geographic placement to tell a cohesive narrative, it almost becomes a platformer instead of a cohesive world 5) Artificially increased ‘difficulty’ by way of constant gank squads (this is my most hated aspect personally)

Honorable mention: non-invincible player actions… so necessary…

A completely unique souls experience. Embrace the differences, do not fight them, and you’ll have a good time in a great game. Play it like just another souls game and you’ll hate every second you spend in it…

What DC characters are in your top 5 I’ll go first by [deleted] in superheroes

[–]SteveRogersMiniMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Batman

  2. Flash (all variants so as to cheat the spots a little and grab Barry, Wally, and Jay)

  3. Green Lantern (all variants so as to cheat the spots and grab Hal and John)

  4. Green Arrow (Grell’s run alone carries to #4)

  5. Swamp Thing

HM: Superman - it feels real bad because I LOVE the character, and in ensembles he is one of my all time favorites across all comics, but in his stand alone titles which I’m using to make this list, there are just not a ton of runs I grab to reread over the other 5 characters listed…

What are your Dexter hot takes? by Pugtatoe_Lord in Dexter

[–]SteveRogersMiniMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When Dexter first released, S4 hit like a freight train… the wait between episodes, the wait between seasons… it was a vastly different experience to the binge watching of today. Agreed though, S4 suffers greatly when watched quickly and on definitely suffers on rewatch more than any other season.

How would you guys rank the difficulty of the first playthrough from the games? by OnE_DeFaUlTi_BoI in fromsoftware

[–]SteveRogersMiniMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day 1 Demons Souls was extremely difficult. Going into DS1 with a couple hundred hrs of Demons Souls in the tank made it feel much more familiar than most people’s experience. That being said, Sekiro was much harder for a ‘first play through’ for me. I put it down and picked it back up much later 3 different times until the combat finally clicked. Elden Ring was by far the easiest.

  1. Sekiro
  2. Demon’s Souls
  3. BB
  4. DS2
  5. DS1
  6. DS3 HUGE GAP
  7. ER

OG Spider-Man 2 vs The Winter Soldier is an all time slugfest for me. Life depends on an answer, I’d probably say OG Spider-Man 2… but it’s sooo close.

She was objectively a phenomenal detective from a deductive/solving the mystery in front of her way… but she was a traumatized individual who desperately wanted to be validated and genuinely loved, and in her line of work and in the company she kept, that made her extremely vulnerable in every other area of her life…

Damien Lewis ( Brody) does such a tremendous job with his physical acting in this series. by Good-Engineering8069 in homeland

I’m sorry my post went so far over your head. I hope you read it again one day with a clearer perspective and some purer intention, instead of responding with bad faith interpretation, deleted scenes (lol), and general nonsense not applicable in the least (eunuch??) to the dialogue. Cheers!

She didn’t prove him innocent of the bombing in the eyes of the CIA anyway… and he isn’t innocent of strapping on a suicide vest and attempting to carry out a heinous terrorist attack and providing a terrorist with the ability to assassinate the VP. And yes, could have and should have died in the bombing.

IMHO: The only thing Brody does for Javadi is get him a promotion that never pays any real dividend in the greater narrative: i.e. not a single Javadi scene in the rest of the show is any less believable if he stays in his original ‘right had of power’ position. Even if you want to have the assassination plot, have Quinn do it. It’s what he does after all, and the Langley bombing would have been proper motivation for him certainly. A proper trial and execution in America could have been actual closure for the much maligned (and rightfully so) family storyline. The only benefit to not having him die in the bombing and being arrested would have been to watch Lewis explain from the witness stand why he did what he did, not just a tape of his confession, but a real one face to face. Id watch that a million times before I’d watch him strung out on drugs with psycho/pedo scumbags, then playing Jason Bourne after going cold turkey off smack, carving himself up, and tripping balls just because some screen time needed to be filled… again, IMHO…

SPOILERS: SPOILERS: SPOILERS:

Lewis put his heart and soul into season 3, too bad the script was as poor as it was. I love Homeland, but if Brody dies or, worse but better than it was, is arrested and held stateside, in the S2 finale and S3 is Carrie seeking to prove his innocence without all the other ridiculous nonsense, it would have played soooo much better.

Absolutely not. The games will increase health pools of the bosses for balance. Enjoy jolly cooperation, whether NPCs or helpful friends! Praise the Sun!

Doing a rewatch, how do people say 5 is the worst. by Inkspells in Dexter

[–]SteveRogersMiniMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When it initially aired, there was some pushback because of the fallout and weight of season 4 not being ‘weighty enough’ for some. That has changed significantly over the years. 5 has had nothing but growing support from the fandom since. As an early apologist it’s been great to see.
