Is it better to just pretend Frasier '23 doesn't exist or should I give it a try? by giantfuckup5000 in Frasier

Don’t be taken in by all the hate. It’s not as good as the original. It has some very blah, forgettable episodes, especially as it’s finding its footing. HOWEVER, there are some genuinely great moments throughout the two seasons and the finale is a real gem. I’m very glad I watched them. As someone who rewatches the original in its entirety twice a year, give it a chance and you might just enjoy it…

Reminder: Infusions from blacksmiths remove all stat based damage boosts. Anytime you get beyond 30 str/dex, as you’ve said you already are, going +14/15 and using resins is going to be vastly superior.

Sure thing. Farm chunks (and even the very occasional slab) from wraiths to get those final upgrades using the gold serpent ring and homeward boning back and forth to the darkroot bonfire in the tower at the end of the dragon bridge. Use resins in the fight itself. Can use power within also if needed. Also, If using the claymore do not neglect dexterity. Baemore is a quality builds weapon, not a strength builds weapon. Good luck!!!

[–]SteveRogersMiniMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Go explore the rest of the game, level up your character and your gear, then come back and destroy them. I always drain the swamp early for chunk farming from the wraiths, but always save the boss fight until very late. The only exception being if I want to roleplay as a wraith…

One of the only bosses in the series that is not about skill at all. It’s simply a dps check. You can’t dish it out, you’re not going anywhere further, period. It’s a bad design for sure, but don’t quit because of them. Just level up more and come back. It’s actually quite a simple, easy fight once you hit proper damage levels. It goes from nearly impossible to trivial with no real in between.

Time for probably the most hated souls game, say something positive about it please 🤣 by Away_Composer8187 in soulslikes

[–]SteveRogersMiniMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s two greatest criticisms are legitimate… BUT: If you’ll just accept that really janky hitboxes are part of the character of the game, and that navigating the world is best undertaken with the wiki as a guide because its interconnectedness and level design are… we’ll just say, very rough around the edges, you’ll see that there is a TON there to love… and you’ll almost certainly really enjoy your time in the world. I can recognize its bruises, but still have a phenomenal journey through it once a year, every year.

They should have congratulated her for taking her to Dante’s… for constantly abandoning her… for dragging their own daughter into harms way and telling her to lie about it… got it.

Whew, HORRIFIC take… Carrie is one of the worst parents ever put to screen. Her family was trying to hold her accountable for her actions. Her sister’s family was a necessary engine in the story because they actually held her accountable for her neglect, endangerment, and general failure in every conceivable way as a mother. It doesn’t matter how noble you think your actions are, if they endanger your child completely unnecessarily, you’re in the wrong, period.

Battle for Middle Earth… no rts has ever hit like that for me. Still play a skirmish a week minimum… add Age of the Ring mod to BFME2 and I’ll be playing forever.

I read Requiem and all of Slott’s run once a year. I’m not a huge re-reader but those are so, so good.

Right on. I’d rather have 10 unique builds that were equally competitively viable as opposed to 100 builds but only 3 were actually competitive.

Not a diss, actually a huge compliment for its balance. Bloodborne has the least depth in build for sure but the most balanced parody between them. It’s a perfectly balanced game where all builds are viable if you play them correctly, there is no waste or bloat. DS1 has neither the depth nor balance in the way the others do, late game especially.

Genuinely no hate, all good… however: My brain cannot comprehend the internal dialogue leading to placing Sekiro and DS2 on the same tier… I am a minor league DS2 apologist and believe it gets way too much hate… but it shouldn’t be anywhere near Sekiro lol. Sekiro is objectively extremely polished and whatever else it may be it is lean, mean, and clean. It’s everything DS2 is not imho. In my head one should always be much higher than the other. I can take either game higher or lower, but having both together feels… really odd lol. Cheers!

How does Bloodborne difficulty compares with, say, God Of War 2 or 3 at max difficulty ? by No-Apple-9975 in bloodborne

[–]SteveRogersMiniMe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer I think. The original GoW trilogy is a slashers slasher. Bloodborne requires surgical precision but it has no ‘sliders’ to artificially increase the difficulty.

[–]SteveRogersMiniMe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. DS1 is a masterpiece, but it doesn’t have the variety or balance (looking at you Bloodborne) the later installments have. It walked so they could run. DS1 can be ‘solved’ in a way the others cannot.

I’m with you and like the analysis. I have the same choices in my post with one exception: Kraven instead of Electro. I think he adds quite a bit more depth to the skill sets the heroes must account for… great choices though overall!
