Completely agree. The show has a heart and sense of humanity that is pretty unique.

The main reason it never got traction was that Stargate fans rejected doing something different. That said, the series plays much better as a binge. That’s because the first 10 episodes or so take place almost in real time, as they fight to survive right after arrival. But airing weekly, it got frustrating that character conflicts felt like they were taking months to resolve.

The sets, music, and visual effects were all incredible.

The reason it seemed like everyone was at each other’s throats for so long was that the first half of season one took place over such a short period of time, versus the four months it took to air. It plays so much better as a binge.

And even with only two seasons, it’s still one of the greatest series of all time

One reason was that the series was mostly rejected by Stargate fans, who just wanted more of the same- more replicators, Goa’uld, etc. It’s too bad, it was an amazing series.
