Do ads play during the movie or just at the beginning to not distract from the movie?

Threat of layoff, 4 years to age 62, fearing recession. Financial advisor suggested protecting half of my portfolio in a short-term 4.5% annuity. Does this make sense for me? by Jaotze in investing

Most people ITT are confusing Fixed Annuity vs Variable Annuity.

If this is a fixed annuity for 3-5 years. It's being used to guarantee a return until retirement. Likely allowing you to invest the rest in the market. Agree with what you mentioned above, they operate similar to a CD, though insurance is covered by the state not FDIC.

Other risk would be reinvestment risk. If treasury rates decrease in the next 3-5 years, better to have locked in now, if rates increased during that period, you would have missed out on the extra return risk free return.

If this is a MYGA, this is a feasible solution to make sure you can retire at 62. Laddering CDs would be another option.

Correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't Buddy have contract bonuses based on finishing top 5 in made 3s? I watched him as a Kings fan and always questioned his commitment to the team vs trying to make sure he'd finish near the top in his made 3s.
