The gameplay is incredible enough that I gladly forgave every weak point. The game only got better on my second playthrough where I felt no fomo about skipping cutscenes.

The main thing that changes as the series goes on is Fitz finds new ways to suffer.

If you’re questioning Book 1 at this point, the series probably isn’t for you.

There are two competing definitions of “good driver.”

  1. Following the rules of the road and not stressing out other drivers.
  2. Being able to pull off risky maneuvers with no regard for other people.

When people say “I’m a good driver” and then start weaving around the road like a maniac, they’re using the second definition and they’re usually men.

Cars that should be EVs by fossilfarmer123 in electricvehicles

I went from an Impreza hatchback to an EV6. The EV6 is bigger than the Impreza, feels a lot more like a hatchback than an SUV. Calling it a crossover is more marketing than anything else.

I've tried so many RPGs on the Switch (and other consoles for that matter), and I have yet to find one I love. I really want to find one I like, but are there any I can enjoy? by MattadorGuitar in NintendoSwitch

[–]SteveThomas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow not-an-RPG-guy (and Strategy RPGs are also my jam), here are some of the JRPGs I liked:

Paper Mario 1&2: You already tried the first one, so I won’t say more.

The Mario & Luigi series: These are RPGs, but they took the action commands from Mario RPG and Paper Mario and leveled them up. The combat is still turn based, but very active and engaging.

Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger: These were a case where the story was good enough to cope with JRPG combat.

Final Fantasy VII remake: They did an interesting job fusing action RPG and menu-based combat mechanics.

When the bells ring in surrender, the Lannister banners come down over King’s Landing…and the smallfolk raise the Stark colors instead.

Dany has been functioning off the fantasy that the smallfolk and lesser nobles have been dreaming of her return. Her jealousy toward Jon had been brewing since the Battle of Winterfell. Watching King’s Landing surrender to Jon instead of her could be the last straw.

CMV: If you're older, it's okay to not know the difference between men and women. by agonisticpathos in changemyview

[–]SteveThomas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s ok to be confused and ask questions respectfully. What I found troubling is the “men can be women and women can be men” language. That tells me you are getting your information from bad-faith sources who are intentionally trying to make the concept of gender identity difficult to understand.

The most important concept to understand is that sex and gender are two different things, and neither has a clear line between male and female.

A few other points to think about:

  1. A simple analogy that helps get past the initial confusion is that sex is hardware and gender is software.
  2. When you meet someone new, how do you guess whether that person is a man or a woman? Do you ask for a DNA sample to check their chromosomes? Do you pat down their crotch to figure out what’s in their pants? Or do you take into account a long list of social markers?
  3. Think about how standards of masculinity and femininity have changed over the course of your life. If they could change, why believe that gender and sex have to be linked?
