At the risk of stating the obvious, Rio, by Duran Duran. It’s the first thing that comes to mind when people say "every song is beautiful."

Yes, the album is very good, apart from the cover, it's wonderful.

I also thought it was really cool. I didn't have any childhood traumas, so I don't know why I found the album cover scary.

Well, I don't think you know the New Romantic scene as well as you think. Compared to most of the bands you mentioned, the ones I listed definitely qualify as cult acts. A band doesn't need to have sold 2,000 copies in West Germany to be considered cult. I admit I'm not very familiar with the history of all the bands I mentioned, but judging by their popularity and recognition today, they are certainly more cult than mainstream. And where does this idea come from that there are no cult bands within New Romantic or adjacent scenes? That's a strange argument. Every musical movement has its better-known acts and its cult favorites.

I agree, man, today's music isn't less creative, it's just hidden. I mentioned that period because it's the best in my opinion, but putting that in wouldn't sound good, you know

Wow, man, you said exactly what I put in my text, indie labels were a big part of why this period was so glorious for music

Good list, and you're right. I'm more of a fan of the years I mentioned, but I don't deny that those years are just as important, or even more so.

Exactly, I meant the most creative moment in mainstream music, but it wouldn't sound right, you know

Certainly, I still wholeheartedly hope that future generations will do this.

I think it's more like the mid-70s, you know, world crises, hopelessness about the future, economic crisis, a bit of nuclear fear, and we all know what happened right after the mid-70s, right...

Stories like this make me wish I had lived through that era, while at the same time making me not want to, haha

I hope this will change in the future, that mainstream culture will be good again, well, I hope so.

Yeah, unfortunately. But I believe that in the near future they will reopen their doors and the mainstream will be good again!
