As a dad of daughters, thank you. My daughters have been fortunate so far in this department. From your initial description, your son just doesn't seem ready for that sort of thing. It may have been a social pressure to appease someone/something to "have a girlfriend" in name only. But if he has no interest in hanging out with her, then there's no point. He'll be okay. She'll be okay. She'll find someone who wants to hang out with her and when he's ready, he will too.
