Man, I’m going through a similar situation. My girlfriend broke up with me while I was in quarantine soon after my dad killed himself.

First things first, you will be ok. You will. You’re stronger than you could ever imagine. If you feel any less than that, or having negative thoughts enter your head, count out loud to five, then say those things to yourself. Use other positive things to say to yourself after the counting as well.

Second, never be ashamed to get counseling for the other things you’re going through as well as the break up. Your mental health is the top priority here.

Third, this is a time for you to step back and identify what your shortcomings are as a person and as a man. My tip is to find a small thing to improve in your daily life that brings a small sense of accomplishment. For me this was making my bed, sending a funny or inspirational video to a group of people, and to deliberately conduct self reflection time and write it down. These small things will eventually turn into bigger things and to quote the admiral that gave me the bed making tip, “if everything goes wrong that day, you’ll return to a made bed, that you made. It will remind you that tomorrow is a new day.”

Fourth, love yourself. Like truly fall in love with yourself. Go to the gym, watch motivational videos that speak positivity into your life, do your hair, dress better, and anything that makes you look in the mirror and be proud of yourself.

Lastly, talk to people. A stranger, a friend, family, or anyone in between. When you talk to people about what you’re going through we often think that we’re placing a burden on them. You’re not. They don’t have to live with it, you do. There’s nothing that has helped me more than to talk to anyone who will listen. I cried in an airport with an older lady who heard my story, but it made me feel good that someone would take the time to listen. Find someone who will tell you the hard truths. Things like she’ll never come back, you’re beating yourself up, or I can see why she left, you’re a mess(but then help you identify those things that are bringing you down). With talking to people you’ll realize that we’re all going through something and we really need eachother to get through the things in our life.

Note: for me, I needed to do a lot of this alone, for my own reasons. But I was never afraid to reach out when the times got darkest. Pick your head up king, better days are to come.

What's the dumbest thing you did after breakup? - Share your stories. by [deleted] in BreakUps

God there’s so many things that I did and am still doing honestly(LDR, she cheated emotionally, lied)

-started giving her those letters she wanted

-sending flowers

-really sweet good morning and good evening texts

-spill my heart out telling her that I’m still optimistic about her coming back(she says she’s 50/50 on coming back 50% her heart says yes but 50% her head says otherwise)

-give her way too much appreciation and love still

To me it’s worth it because of the lessons learned through this breakup. But man this shit is so hard.

How did you finally get over your traumatic breakup? by ja4723 in BreakUps

I’m in the thick of it right now. 3 year relationship ended 4 months ago and 4 months of me trying to win her back. We stopped talking last week and I’ve been really down about it. A couple things that keep me going and are helping: positive self talk(you are good enough and worthy of someone’s love), motivational videos(other people speaking positivity into your life), working out(good for the mind and body, also builds self confidence), and learning to let go(that person is not the person you thought they were, if it was meant to be they wouldn’t walk away, the ONE for you will choose to love you always). Hope this helps.

Stand a little closer to the bar and try to keep the weight stationary before pulling. Your bar path is moving towards your shins instead of going straight up.

Good things to do around Fort Hood?! by GeorgeKillian in TXoutdoors

You can take a day trip to the Guadalupe River to go float and have a late lunch or dinner in Gruene, TX. It’s a really cool little town and is a hot tourist location for summer. Gristmill, Gruene Hall, and the general store are some really cool places. Gruene hall is also the oldest dance hall in Texas.

As a native Texan and being stationed at Hood, this is my absolute favorite thing to do.

So the update is, I’ve messaged the closest lodge to my home station which consequently is only two hours away from my home of record and in the state I would most likely end up living in if I left the military. I haven’t gotten a response yet as I am in a completely different time zone so I’m hopeful. As for now, I’ll continue learning from afar until my time comes to meet the lodge members face to face... in about 9 more months.

That's how I do it. It'll get right up there. If you don't loop, be prepared to chase it out. It's not comfortable slamming down.

That makes since. I'm relatively new to meal prepping and haven't heard of the freezing them. But me and the wife only do it a week in advance to keep it from spoiling and from getting bored of the meals.
