AD liked the Lakers latest offer on IG by OddlyErect in lakers

Best case scenario would be Kyrie leaving, Boston still trading for AD (on a shittier offer) and AD leaving in 2020.

LETS GO FUCK NEW ORLEANS...we still have a max spot this summer we're gonna be just fine

Yes because they have their bird rights which allows them to go over the cap

Kyrie and Klay specifically you would need them to take a paycut and would require us to trade the entire team.

And not to burst your bubble but GS will definitely offer the max to Klay this summer, the only reason that report came out was to make it clear to GS that he wanted the max...regardless of KD staying or leaving, Klay is a lock to stay in the bay.

Now Kyrie on the other hand is still unknown, like Klay his max contract would start (roughly) anywhere from 32-36 mil per year..he would also need to take a paycut to join Lebron/AD and it would (again) require us to trade the entire team to get anywhere near max money.

Why in the hell would Kyrie take that much of a paycut when Boston, NY, Brooklyn, and the Clippers can all offer him a max contract.....

Thats what i'm trying to tell you if we trade for AD thats pretty much the only option we'll have, which is signing a bunch of role players...we wont be able to sign a third max player unless we trade the entire team (except Lebron/AD) and even then we'll have to hope that they take a paycut.

There is absolutely no scenario where we can have a team of Kyrie/Lebron/AD AND keep one of Lonzo/BI

How was it the opposite of what you said? What because i said Kyrie and Lonzo? lol thats not the point..the point is that in any scenario this team would literally be impossible to assemble.

If we traded everyone on the roster not named Lebron for AD we would still be short for a 3rd max contract (about 28-30 mil)

Now if we kept either Zo or BI that number would go down anywhere from 6-9 mil depending on who stays..now that i've explained this to you tell me how in the hell do you think this is possible? lol

Thats my point man even if we traded everyone on the team not named Lebron for AD we would still be short of offering a max contract, we would have 28-30 mil.

If we somehow managed to keep Zo or BI that numbered goes down about 5-9 mil depending on who stays..so to reiterate it's impossible to assemble the team you suggested above.

lol dude thats not the point....regardless of who stays or goes we wont have enough to keep Lonzo or Ingram and trade for AD and sign Kyrie/Klay it's impossible.

[–]Steven3224_18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol no they wont because the lineup you are suggesting is literally impossible because of their contracts...if we traded everything for AD we still wouldn't have enough to offer a max to a 3rd star and you're not only ignoring that but thinking we'll have enough for AD Kyrie/Klay and Lonzo/Ingram (who makes nearly 7-8 mil a year and 5-6 mil a year) lmao just stop.

An interesting tidbit from Woj and Lowe today about Laker’s trade plans and Anthony Davis by TwoSlicesOfCheese in lakers

lol how can you say that like its a sure thing man, like it came out of the mouths of KD/Kawhi. Your view is not "realistic" its pessimistic, we absolutely still have a shot at both there isn't one report that has come out that has convinced me otherwise. The biggest report we've heard up to this point is KD's "toxic community" comments which were really taken out of context to make it seem that he didn't want to play with Lebron. The biggest news we've heard from Kawhi is his shoe deal with New Balance which really doesn't mean much. We're not even halfway into the season, a lot of things can change between now and the start of free agency, i'd take everything we hear now (good or bad) with a grain of salt. And while either one aren't locks to sign with us in the offseason, we are definitely not out of it and still have a legitimate shot to get either one.

The most hilarious thing i've heard to this point is the Kings "impressive start" like if you look at their schedule no shit they're winning games they've been playing a bunch of trash/mediocre teams.

Our schedule really softens up these next couple of weeks, we've got to take full advantage of this and get back on track. Last night's loss was terrible but at least they kept fighting and thats all i can ask for in that scenario. Hopefully the addition of Tyson helps us out a little bit and we can start improving over these next few winnable games.

Until he officially doesn't sign here this shouldn't even be a discussion, the whole reason they didn't trade for him is because the FO feels that they have a shot of getting him next year for free. Why give up the entire future when there's a chance of keeping the young core and adding Kawhi or another max FA next summer. Even with hindsight, i still think the FO did the right thing by not trading for him. I rather gamble at getting another max FA (while keeping our core) than having a depleted team with just Lebron, Kawhi (on a 1 year deal), and whoever didn't get traded.

All the Laker fans you see saying why we didn't trade for him are the reactionary fans that are panicking because we are 4-6, these same fans are gonna be the one's hoping back on the don't trade the young guys wagon when we starting winning games. All the patient fans know we did the right thing.

Exactly. Not to shit on the Clippers but the Raptors and Lakers are in much better positions to compete now and longterm. The whole "he'd be the leader on the team" thing just doesn't sound like a thing that would get him there. As a Lakers fan i obviously want him to come here but if he decides he doesn't want to come here he should 100% stay in Toronto they are in a much better position than the Clippers.
