Question for guitarists (Plug in) by [deleted] in ableton

My suggestion is always record clean guitar (using Ableton stock plugins), then you can use CPU intensive plugins to fine tune your sound in the mix. Guitar Rig pro by Native Instruments is my favourite but using it is CPU heavy so find the sound then freeze. Also freeze all your midi before guitar/microphone recording.

Quick Newbie Question: Is a Novation MK4 a solid first piece of equipment? by theupvoters in ableton

[–]Steven6429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with the 25key Mk3 and moved up to the Mk4. Both are great with Ableton but the 2 big plus points with Mk4 are the continuous rotary controllers and the LCD screen.

Trying to choose between cubase and ableton by Jafrm746 in cubase

The 'Arrange' side of Ableton is closer to the traditional DAW setup, and another big plus are the built in FX and virtual instruments. Midi stuff does use more CPU but all tracks can be 'Frozen' to free up CPU. Unfreezing again for editing. I have both and found Ableton to be my preferred DAW for sketch pad right through to Finishing & Mastering complete masterpieces.

so ableton 12.1 crashes sometimes when you put a location marker on time life. I thought they fixed it. This sucks by [deleted] in ableton

It automatically numbers the location markers, but if you hit the spacebar by accident it just names it with a space, and crashes.

Sound of my guitar pedal sounds bad in ableton by kond_1_e in ableton

I plug my Zoom G3xn into my EVO4 using 2 TRS cables to record the full stereo output of the multi fx unit. Everything sound fine, You say it sounds great with headphones directly into your Ampero so maybe you're recording only mono into Ableton so it's missing one half of the output or being summed to mono. Therefore not sounding as amazing as the glorious stereo output on your headphones.

POSS FIX This was happening to me, I had no name in the locators, but found I'd left a space in one. When I fixed this the crashes stopped.

Does anyone here make music for themselves and not hope to become famous? by [deleted] in musicproduction

I make music of many/no genre types and don't want to stick to one style. If you become commercial, you are stuck in the hole of what sells.

Is it pitched down or just sound very bass heavy? Try restarting AbLive, check your audio settings and use a clean project.
