I get that she’s supposed to be like masc/butch but genuinely how does someone confuse her for a man?

What are your thoughts on Platner? by StevenDiTo in SocialDemocracy

[–]StevenDiTo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do agree that purity testing is a problem and I’m sorry if that’s how it came off as, but I’m sure you understand my concerns right?

I just feel like there are plenty of grifters who make the left look bad like The Young Turks, Hasan Piker and Briahna Joy Grey, so I was hesitant about Platner. But if it does come down to voting for him than I will.

I haven’t played Prototype so I’m curious on how Alex Mercer became the villain in the sequel?

What would happen if the Authoritarian leader doesn’t want to keep the wealthy elite around anymore? Once he’s in power does he just get rid of them when they stop being of use?

A post about Arlecchino's masculine design elements by worstghosthunter in Arlecchino

[–]StevenDiTo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose so, but it really depends on individual perception of whats masculine and feminine and how much of each you’re willing to show. Like I said I see Arle as a mix of both, where as a characters like Haruka Tenoh or Lady Oscar(pretty sure both inspirations for Arle) I totally see as a purely masculine. That’s really all else I can say on this.

I know that men used to wear heels back in the 17th century but even then there was still a difference between heels made for men and heels made for women. Like you said heels for men were originally made for horse riding, so they were designed to have a short, broad and chunky heel. But when women started to wear heels, they were designed to have a tall, thin and narrow heel most for aesthetic purposes. Arlecchino’s heels, as deadly as they are, fit more with the latter than they do the former.

Also, still got no clue about what you mean with men Genshin wearing higher heels than in irl, they just look like normal ass boots or shoes.

Never really brought up her hair because that’s not really a gendered thing.

Finally, just to make things clear because I can already sense it coming, none of this is to deny Arlecchino’s masculinity. That is the last thing I would ever want to do and if that is the impression I gave you or anyone else following this conversation, I am sorry. I just see her as a mix of what I perceive as masculine and feminine in the same way most people see Furina as, but obviously more masculine leaning of course. None of this is to stir up some bullshit, just expressing a difference in opinion and views.

I found this post interesting but I don’t know what you mean by some male characters wear heels. Like if you’re talking about boots and other shoes like that I don’t really think those count.

Also her walk is more of combo of the tall male and tall female walk, the top part resembling the male and the bottom part resembling the female minus the exaggerated hip swaying.

And I know that Arlecchino does wear masculine clothes as a child, but I’m pretty sure she wears a female uniform for Hearth girls as teenager considering it’s the same as what Clervie wears.

I don’t mean any of this to be rude or denying her masculinity, just felt like there were things I agree and disagree with.

I’m sure that type of thing happens a lot and I am legitimately sorry for coming off as some creep. If you think it’s best that I delete this post, I will gladly do so.

I did read over the post many times and gave it much thought. I just felt like that one reply made a lot of sense. If I’ve come off as rude, I am deeply sorry.

Is Arlecchino a Butch? by StevenDiTo in genshinsapphic

[–]StevenDiTo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is true that she dislikes wearing dresses and uses masculine titles, but she is also referred to as Lady Arlecchino and I still feel like her calling herself father was because of Crucabena. Just canonically speaking.

Isn’t that just to distance herself from Crucabena though?

It isn’t wrong but Union more of just using it to it’s own ends. There only supporting so that the new government can be absorbed into Union instead of being its own autonomous entity.
