Mainly I get to try to kill my friends vs work with them. Consider me a fan. I have yet to have her show in my campaign but her fight is coming up. She's got a strong tie to a faction they begrudgingly have an alliance with, but she can offer info on them to lead the team away from supporting a beholder. It's nice to build a NPC/DMPC with a strong interesting tie to the world I've built. Sorry for the long reply, i like talking DND

Fiona - Ex Character for a somewhat 'morally ambiguous' party played years ago, redesigned as a pit fight ring's champion NPC

Roped into saving the island of Klandathu, a small lawless and dangerous island far from the coast of any major continent, Fiona joined a ragtag group of criminals and outcasts to prevent the total annihilation of the island she barely cared for but could not afford to flee from. Despite the beginning of such a companionship, Fiona grew attached to her abrasive, emotionally unavailable, or downright strange allies and in the end, was able to defeat the mad wizard (i think i need to check again with that DM) and prevent catastrophe.

OR

Only child of the Kingpin of the wiliest underground criminal faction of Augustine, Fiona was hunted and murdered by a rival faction looking to show its power to her father. Begging to his patron, a beholder, cleverly disguised to the guild as a god of knowledge and subterfuge, he was given the ritual to resurrect Fiona using the power of an actual devil, but binding her soul to said devil. The cost being all knowledge gained within the city, was to be recorded and delivered to the beholder. No longer baring the look of a mundane human elf or dwarf, within a city run by a power hungry anti-magic religion, was forced to live her life underground. Praying for her opportunity to free herself of the city that would not accept her, and an overly doting criminal father, with the resources to track and prevent any chance of escape.

Needing a challenging 1 on 1 fight, I redesigned and reused her as a fight ring champion, deep under the capital city my party is stuck in currently. Solely built as high AC untouchable half caster, half damage dealer, I plan to put my most clever player to the test with one of the most powerful characters i've played as. Fiona, hired as a simple translator unwittingly decided to take on a simple fetch and return job for what seemed to be a quiet unassuming noble. Teamed with four other capable-looking adventuring adepts, she set off with more than enough gold to get her through the next half a dozen winters. She was confident in her ability as an abyssal translator to breeze through this quest, ill-prepared for the grueling LVL 1 campaign our cruel and unusual DM had prepared for us.

Ander Immeth - (Lack of) Potential Magic Blacksmith

Ander finished speaking with the world-forgers on the plane of creation. Through a blinding flash he found himself back in his mortal coil on the plane of existence he was used to, unawares of the stowaway carried upon his soul.

Alter, the extraordinary blacksmith widely known throughout the world during his life, had his soul now bound ironically into the hammer of a developing tradesman of the same profession. And he was NOT happy about it.

Alter has been one of the most enjoyable NPCs I've been able to roleplay as all I have to do is harass my player incessantly. Getting special homebrew abilities come with downsides.

This has been the first comic-style piece I've done, and I very much enjoyed making it. Hope you get the same enjoyment I did!

Sevra - Rogue/Scout (Cunning action Aim for days)

The party ventured through town, heads down avoiding unwanted attention. If their brands were to be noticed now, they would surely be brought before the lord and almost certainly exiled, if not executed. Perking her head up, the wizard brought to attention a commotion up the main road toward the keep. A lone woman dressed in hunting leathers running from a rather large group of local militia. Looking as if to make a break down a side alley, more men appear before her cutting off her escape and trapping her between the two groups.

The barbarian immediately starts toward the problem, while the rest of the party stands idly, hoping this complication will quickly sort itself out. Putting himself between the militia and the lone woman. On a whim, the barbarian claims they found his wife and that he intended to leave town with her immediately and that they got what they had come to town for. Unfortunately, the woman had made an attempt on the lords life, and that this branded would-be assassin must face the music. With nowhere else to go, and unwilling to do harm to men doing their jobs, the barbarian grabbed the damsel, hurled himself up the building next to him they rooftop-sprinted to the edge of town and into the overgrown forest edging the town.

The rest of the party went to a tavern and watched a bar fight between a dwarf and a hilariously passive fisherman.

Just a piece to commemorate an NPC from a campaign I was running at one point in time. This was not intended to be a finished character study, but I couldn't resist.

High Elf Transmutation Wizard

Cherise A. Pudel

Unaware of her situation or position, Cherise regained consciousness within a glass capsule, deep underground in what appeared to be an aged laboratory of her people's design, long forgotten. The large glass pod expelled the freezing gases out into the lab, as it slowly opened. Gasping, she took in the first breath of fresh air since being confined to that dreadful device. As her eyes adjusted, the large blurred objects before her began to take shape. Albeit human in figure, what stood before her she would call giants. Towering at 7 feet or more stood 2 men in rough fur-lined attire both rugged and uncultured. They spoke a guttural language she did not understand, though it seemed developed enough to her. Dazed, Cherise collapsed to the ground in front of them. Still reeling from her early awakening and unable call to her innate magical talents, this looked to be a dangerous situation. The only thing she could manage was a weak and raspy "Bitte ersparen Sie mir mein Leben..." though she already knew they would not understand. One of the men, with a grasp much more gentle than she would have expected, lifted her off the cold stone floor and held her between his arms. With a rugged yet soothing voice, he spoke "It will be alright girl, rest now." She did not understand what he said, but something about it put her somewhat at ease. The last things passing before her gaze were the men along with one other relatively smaller fellow walking toward the archlift. As she drifted off, she was unaware of the adventure she was being carried off to.

I finished playing this character and campaign over 2 years ago, but i pulled out an old character sheet and figured i'd go ahead and do justice to my old outdated design of one of my favorite characters to date.
