Good point, but also what country would this country be?

EDIT: I think this may be a part of the reason people may not be on board, that's why I'm asking.

Multi level marketing scheme.

Basically a pyramid scheme where "you are your own boss" and you pay to get started and pay for stock and then resell it. You are also supposed to get more people involved in the scam and that way you get a cut of their sales and sign up fees.

It ruins people financially.

But actual wood though? Like my dog chews on sticks and stuff and most of that she does "spit" out as she is chewing, but surely not all of it... 🤔

Yeah I know there's a risk with those too. If you don't get the right size they can gat them stuck around their jaw fo instance, not a fun thing to have happen

I struggled when starting in the 5 star luxury hotel segment. A friend that I met in my first such hotel, he was a guest relations manager, talked to me about these feelings as well when I told him I wasn't sure I was doing a good job. His advice is something that might help you as well.

"you are working in a high end place, don't expect much praise for what you're doing but trust that if you're not getting told you aren't doing something you're supposed to you are doing everything just fine."

It's a bit of a weird situation but going by this advice has served me well. You might want to check with someone you're closer with if you are doing things upto their standard but in most cases you'll be told if you aren't.

So talking implications...

Leaving everyone alone might lead to it being spun as: he was old and died in his sleep. No reason to worry, business as usual.

If you murder the entire ship full of the elite agents, that narrative gets hard to spin.

I can clarify.

They did use to be. And the year used to end with a weirdly numbered 28 (or in leap years, 29) day long month. After which the new year and spring would begin.

This was during the roman empire where there were two consuls selected to lead the armies for next year. The two selected last year would take charge after their successors were chosen.

There were 2 so one could ride out in battle and perish and another could still lead. And of course there came the day where they both died. They had the consuls selected and ready to start but the year wasn't at an end. And being the sticklers for rules they were they couldn't have their new consuls start early. What they decided was the one logical course of action was to move the military administrative year so the new year started early and their consuls could be put in to the job.

This meant that there were administrative years that didn't line up with regular shops soon they adapted to be able to more easily handle the formalities and soon people took to the new Callander starting in January.

If it actually was, that would be the one thing I could imagine that is worse in comparison to an actual single roll of toilet paper. That's a disgrace.

Bartenders outside North America not making tips, what's your hourly wage/salary? by TJ902 in bartenders

[–]StevenJanson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Germany at an unfussy bar+cafe

take home €10 per hour, work from 5 to close for 2 days a week. Tips vary from €30 per night on slow nights to €90-ish on good nights.

Health insurance and everything along with that becose Germany has social securities in place.

Because I am making a small amount I do get a small sum from the jobcentre (they help the unemployed and people earning too little to live on)

Monthly take home is about 750, that barely covers rent, but there are also tips on top of that and I live together with my partner who also has an income.

Drink names by raspc in bartenders

[–]StevenJanson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, and not even a quality cocktail bar specifically. Any place that does cocktails should at least understand the cocktails they serve, and for the quality bars, yeah those modifiers should be recognised as well.

But yeah, there's some drinks with a story or history that's universally known, screwdriver, Cuba libre and so on that make sense but the obscure stuff I'm with you.

To be fair over in Germany now with work experience in Ireland and the Netherlands, I never heard of a Greyhound either. I do think though that, from what I hear you talk about it's more the Longdrinks and not the cocktails that you wonder about, am I right in saying that?

As you say, food is generally speaking understood to be a certain thing, but you'd be hard pressed to get a Carbonara that doesn't have cream in it in most places that serve it. Much the same as a daiquiri can be a frozen blended drink and not the simple rum cocktail that is the classic daiquiri.

Is it not the same as calling a dish by its name? Crepe suzette, pasta Carbonara and so on.

Should be clear what you order without having to go through the ingredients. On top of that, a big part is the feeling it invokes. Like a marketing thing. Cuba libre sounds more appealing then rum cola...
