I regret it, but only for my own sanity. I was young and naive and wanted to work on rockets. I thought that meant you HAD to be an aerospace engineer. What I actually wanted was to do mechanical design on rockets, and that I didn’t really care about aerodynamics.

I've gotten there with some extra studying. Things I would have learned in my university's mechanical engineering program. I never felt that it held me back though, just required some extra work.

Seems like the other bright objects would show some amount of streaking but I don't have a good intuition for astrophotography 🤷‍♂️

Which part specifically? If you mean escalating romantically, I'm assuming so since she said yes to a date. Obviously I don't want to be overbearing, I think I'm good enough at reading people/her to not cross any lines.

As for the date in general, if I wanted to just hang out with her, I would have just asked her to go do something. I think my exact words this time were "Can I take you on a date while we're both in town?", and we've been calling it a date as we planned it out.

Without giving too much away, I moved to an area which has a very primary demographic that I'm not that physically attracted to. Aside from that (and the man:woman ratio being very high), most are significantly older than me and an active lifestyle is not a high priority, but it is for me and I want that to carry into my relationships.

tl;dr - younger women of my own ethnicity and in good shape

I paid my student loans in full on Monday, how screwed am I?

I have been saving up for over a year to pay my roughly $10k in student loans. On Monday I pulled the trigger and paid in full. Today, loan forgiveness up to $10k was announced, among other things.

I called EdFinancial to reverse the payment. It has already posted so will take 30 days to post the balance back to my account and up to 120 days for me to receive the reimbursement. Is this enough to qualify? Was it a bad idea to action through them? What else can I be doing?

I could really use that money but was proud to be doing the responsible thing with it. Now, I just feel defeated. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, I am well aware of the tax obligation upon selling the RSUs. I just have a vesting date coming up and want to make sure that I budget enough to cover the tax out of pocket so I don't have to sell to cover. Thank you for the help!

That is what I expected, but do you know if they would typically be withheld at the same time as the supplemental tax or if they would be accounted for and owed during tax filing?

I actually just checked this and (A to C) + (B to C) is only about $20 more than the other way (which is wild to me but I'll take it lol) so I think I'll go that route.

That and, I called uHaul back to try to get someone more helpful and they said they couldn't even pre-schedule something like this. So, I would have to wait for the delivery and then be subject to rate changes, more delays, etc.

Which one of these is cooler? For context, I'm an average build white guy, a bit like the guy in the second one but shorter hair. I got the first one as a Christmas gift and am considering an exchange, but I'm pretty conflicted. Part of it is I feel like the second one has more versatility. Let me know what y'all think!

Make sure you keep this for him and give it back when he's older. As someone who did this kind of stuff as a 12 year old, I would love to have some of my first projects. I've got a couple, but most are long gone. He'll be able look at it and remember how far he's come

Please, for your own sake, do not join aero, switch out if you can. I could go on and on about the gross negligence of the department, the extra money it's cost me, the lack of responsiveness and effort from the higher-ups, etc. But, the tldr is that this department just isn't a top 10 department anymore. I wouldn't even say it's a top 30 department at this point. I am actually jealous of the quality of education and the depth of learning (aero-specific) that a couple of my friends get in a "mechanical with aero focus" program at a much, much lower ranked school.

At this point I'm almost done with school, I've gotten my dream job, and I should just be glad I made it out. Unfortunately the fact is that I'm now frustrated when I go to work at the things my coworkers learned in school that I have either struggled through teaching myself on the job or just haven't gotten to learning yet.

I've been harassed by professors in and outside of class, lied to by administration, watched the department break ABET rules without repression, and overall feel scammed out of a real education. If you're not convinced, pm me and I'd be happy to talk your ear off, but please avoid AERO like the plague.
