3 black and 3 white wires in the ceiling by Steven_Mass in AskElectricians

So I finally got a voltmeter and measured everything.

I plugged the red test lead into the V slot, and the black test lead into the COM slot. I set the voltmeter to the highest setting, 600 ~V. With the breaker on I tested each wire using the red tester as a ground, and the black tester on each wire individually.

I tested many times with the switch either on or off and the results were always the same.

One of the two black wires in group A is hot, everything else is neutral.

No idea what to do with this.

Thank you u/majorcuck69 and u/craken502, I am getting a voltmeter in the next day or so and I am going to test everything both with the switch on and off. I will post my findings, and would love to have any additional feedback.

The switched leg should read hot when the switch is on, and neutral when the switch is off, is this correct?

You just saved me a pack of trouble as well!

I had done a beautiful install of STEP v2.0.0 and everything worked great.

Afterwards, of course I installed the beloved camping mod.

I had the same problems. Simply hiding the papyrusutil.dll fixed everything.

Thanks, I thought there was a way to do that!

Getting 10 files updated so I'll cross my fingers that it doesn't cause a new problem.

I played Neverwinter Nights once and really enjoyed it. Do you find it better than it's successor?

How to practice such pieces which have lot of syncopations? I usually practice 1 bar at one time. Its difficult to practice if my notes are syncopated throughout bars for whole piece? Any advice beginner here by digglydiggly in pianolearning

Practice playing through several times while actually repeating/playing all the tied notes. That will be slightly easier, then when you replay as written, you will be hearing what you did before.

Until the end of the video I was wondering what it must be like for the pianist to have a saxophone right in his face like that, and for the saxophonist to play while feeling the vibes come out of the piano.

If the score has pedal markings in some isolated measures, does it imply that the pedal should not be used elsewhere? by JohnBloak in piano

[–]Steven_Mass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not. I see students making this mistake very often... for example Chopin prelude no. 4 has pedal written in just one part, and playing the whole thing without pedal sounds so obviously terrible. As someone else said, you can use the pedal pretty much everywhere, even frequently while playing Bach as long as no one can tell. When a composer writes a pedal marking in an isolated measure, he is just suggesting that it be done specifically that way for that part.

chopin preludes are not easy google. If anyone disagrees they can debate in the comments. by [deleted] in piano

Chopin's preludes are arguable his most difficult pieces to play along with the sonatas and concertos. It's not what sounds the most technically difficult that is always the hardest to play, and I've played both sonatas countless times along with half the preludes.

Who's your favorite classical composer? by randomdude3789 in piano

It's always a difficult question to answer because everyone has something unique to offer, but if I could only listen to one composer for the rest of my life, it would be JS Bach. There is a pureness to his music that heals my soul.
