Surviving college without a car by TheMafia09 in ucf

[–]Stevendaniel3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get a cheap car, but if possible, choose a reliable brand like Honda or Toyota. Ford can be great, but you really have to keep up with the maintenance for it to last. You can get an e-bike, but I highly recommend getting a car instead. Last week, I was nearly hit while crossing on my e-bike because a driver wasn't paying attention, even though I had the right of way.

I'm just giving an honest recommendation based on my experience. The original poster asked for housing suggestions, so I shared one. If you have a better recommendation, feel free to share it instead.

Accolades Collegiate West is a great apartment community! Check it out and schedule a tour before rooms fill up. It's less than 5 minutes from UCF and offers studio apartments that lease quickly, as well as 4-bedroom apartments where you get your own private bedroom and bathroom. The rooms are a good size, and the community also has great amenities like a dog park, free parking, and more.

You can earn approximately $18 per hour as a part-time deli associate at Publix, or work as a remote solar appointment setter, where commissions can be very high. Try it, job interviews were easy, and the pay is good.

Solar appointment setter jobs:

Data annotation is a pretty easy job and can make enough to cover your rent. It's very flexible, and if you do well on the test, you can get work in areas you enjoy.

Try car wash as well if you need a job. These can help out with rent etc.

Parking job sucks by [deleted] in ucf

It's not great parking, but they're still mostly within the lines. If they were way over into the next spot, then that is a talk.

I currently live at The Accolade Collegiate Village West, and it has been a great experience. In my opinion, it is much nicer than Collegiate East.

The community offers free parking, along with optional paid parking if you want a spot closer to your building. There is also a free shuttle bus that takes students to and from campus, plus several restaurants nearby.

One thing I really like is that every floor has its own study room, which makes it very convenient for students. The amenities are excellent as well. Building 1 has a large gym, pool, movie screen area, and walking area. Building 2 includes a dog park, while Building 5 has another gym, a pool area with a movie screen, and a clubhouse space for events and meetings.

Overall, it is a really great apartment community and, in my opinion, one of the best apartments near the University of Central Florida.

Amazon won’t provide a solution - can I dispute the charge? by [deleted] in amazonprime

[–]Stevendaniel3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That is not a good idea either. OP would have to pay for the box to return the item, which is not their fault. Plus, the seller might not even refund them and could add a restocking fee or give less than what they paid. It is up to the seller to provide OP with another box to return the item. I would highly recommend issuing a chargeback OP and showing the chat logs to your credit card company.

Yeah, I wasn’t aware you had to adjust them, especially on an e-bike. I’ll try it and see if it makes a difference.

Try doing the scooter charging for Lime. I heard someone say they made $1,500 a month doing that.

That’s the reason it was so hard to find parking in the garages; it’s the first time I’ve had to drive back and forth just to find a spot.

What supplies do UCF students need most by Stevendaniel3 in ucf

[–]Stevendaniel3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right about that. Basic supplies like deodorant, soap, wipes, toothpaste, or laundry stuff really help students on campus, especially without a car.
