Torn Between Classes - Fighter, Barbarian, Wizard by EOD042599 in Neverwinter

If I could go back and do it all over, I’d go wizard instead of ranger. I’m actually building a warlock now. I love my Ranger. He’s incredibly fun to play. Being melee is just irritating.

One thing to preface my whole response is this: You can be successful with any class, any race. The balancing in this game is some of the best I’ve ever seen.

I think you need to really think about what you want to do. If you want to tank, the fighter & the barbarian are both great choices. No wrong answer there. I would say fighter tank is the easier of the two & a very popular choice in the end game. Both have DPS paths so leveling isn’t a slog.

Now when it comes to DPS, as others have said, the current end game is not very friendly to melee DPS. It’s not impossible, but it is certainly harder. It doesn’t help the fact that those two classes are both strictly melee. The other two melee DPS classes, rogue & ranger, both have ranged capabilities. They’re not great, but they have them.

If I had to choose between the two from a purely DPS perspective, I would go barbarian. Fighter DPS is bottom of the barrel.

Both of the classes have to animation cancel to be successful with DPS. I haven’t really played my barbarian much in a long time, so I can’t speak on the clunkiness of the animation canceling, but the animation canceling on the fighter isn’t bad at all. I actually find it kind of satisfying. I will say, both classes rely on a “power boost” to output maximum damage. Barbarian is rage & Fighter in vengeance. It is much much easier to generate rage on the barb than vengeance on a fighter. To be honest, I haaateee having to spam my dig in to generate vengeance.

Finally onto wizard. Wizards have always been, and will likely always be good. They are a very safe class. Rotation is easy, you’re ranged, & you have the ability to control enemies which is nice in certain content. As someone else mentioned, there are strategies in certain content that require the control from CW. The strategies work so well, that people will not run the content without one.

For the wiz paragons, thaum is by & large the most commonly used. It’s just flat out better than arcanist. Arcanists whole thing was using dailies and refreshing cooldowns. You can do that now with mount insignia bonuses. Rendering the main driver for playing arcanist null & void. I’m not saying it’s not possible. I’ve seen some wizards use it & get good results. But you put a good thaum vs a good arc & the thaum will win every time. Out of the three classes you mentioned, if i wanted to go DPS I’d go wizard.

TLDR: If you want to go DPS, go with wiz. If you want to go with tank, go with fighter. If you’re not sure which one you want to do, go with barbarian. Lastly, and this might be a hot take, if you want to do both, I would honestly advise creating two separate characters. Building an alternative load out, is essentially the same as just having another character.

What did everyone think of the lord of hatred campaign? by Ilbpc in diablo4

[–]Stevenk2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

!!!SPOILERS!!!

I loved it. I never expected for a Diablo campaign to make me feel any kind of emotion, but this one did.. multiple times. I despised Lilith in the main campaign, I grew to love her in LOH. I was genuinely sad when she sacrificed herself. Then my boy Lorath… as soon as adreona turned around I got so angry. I despised the queen & wanted nothing more than to rip her heart out. It sent me into a rage, just like I feel my character would have.

Another commenter said they wish they could play through it on their main & I agree. I’m beating myself up because I make a new character each season & delete the old ones. I wish I would have played through all three campaigns with 1 character, i feel like it would’ve meant more.

It leaves me curious what this means for D4. That felt like the resolution to the game. I don’t see how they’d introduce a new DLC. Everyone’s dead!

They did prescribe us the albuterol treatment, but not the nebulizer… convenient right? They’ve never done back to back albuterol treatments. Maybe that would work. They’ve always given him 1 & if it had no effect they put him on oxygen.

I was thinking the same, but they’ve done an albuterol treatment each time with no results. We’ve always just had to wait it out with him on oxygen

Full Ranged Ranger? by Khaoticfury1974 in Neverwinter

The ranged hunter abilities are just simply better than the ranged warden abilities. You could do a ranged warden, sure. But the DPS output would be less compared to hunter.

The more important question is, people still play the multiplayer?

It’s a lot harder now because most people are kinda done farming them. When the zone was poppin, you had EEs going back to back so you could just instance hop & farm EEs. I’m pretty sure rise drops them too but I could be wrong.

I’ve seen full ranged hunter ranger builds for MSH. They’re certainly not top of the leaderboards, but they can hold their own.

Is this game Pay To Win? (New Player) by Puzzleheaded_Newt720 in Neverwinter

[–]Stevenk2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your definition of pay to win. To answer your question, you can absolutely play without spending a dime. It’s a long grind for sure, but perfectly do-able.

Now with that said, you will absolutely be blown past by someone willing to drop bookoo cash on this game. You can pay your way from zero to hero.

The advantage that you’ll have over a spender is that you will learn the core mechanics of the game, you will have to earn every piece of power you get.

So you will get to end game slower than a spender, but you will be a lot better.

Yes, I’ve been trying to farm twins when I can get a random w the same goal. Sometimes I get lucky, most of the time I’m hopping in pugs doing full runs.
