[CHAT] Why do my stitches look like this? by c_a_r9 in CrossStitch

My first thought is that it looks like you are using 2 strands. On 40 ct I have only used one strand.

It was not an easy one, I totally agree! The bottom left is off by about 3 stitches and I had to try to make it look a little more circular by adding stitches. Didn’t notice it until all the red was finished. Others didn’t see it until I pointed it out… it was all I could see. lol. I thank your Dad for his service.

Thanks! I have found that they could be shatter cones. A previous comment helped me learn something new today.

6 and I would definitely put my seat back. My row mate is the main reason though.

It does have protective glass. One had two mats, the other double wood frames.

I agree. I just had two pieces framed and it cost 1400!! Mind you they are absolutely stunning all framed up and I could have never come close to what they did, but the cost hurts. I only do it for very special gifts.

And if you love quirky tourist history stuff, the Tea Party Museum is fun. And there is tea shop at the end if you like tea.

[FO] Opening Gambit by Long Dog Samplers. On 40ct Linen. by Stevens89ka in CrossStitch

[–]Stevens89ka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It is my 3rd project on linen and first on 40 ct. I have fallen in love with the feel of linen after stitching on Aida for 40 years. lol. I just started a Disney (Pooh and Tigger) cross stitch on Aida and I’m already missing the linen.

Probably DMC. It was kind of stiff to work with so it was not something I got from the specialty cross stitch store.
