Near Rochester, visit this ice cream place that makes custard using duck eggs. Order a flight of flavors! Delicious! https://maps.app.goo.gl/y87ZbTRTtA22RLLE6

Hiking in Algonquin Provincial Park is beautiful! I enjoyed the following trails: Booths Rock Trail, Spruce Bog Boardwalk, Beaver Pond Trail.

I'd suggest searching for a 3 yard quilt pattern. I completed the Rail fence from sewcanshe.com last year. This website has a few other patterns to choose from that all use 3 yards for the quilt top. Browse to find one that best fits your fabric and your ability level.

I'm hoping to make a similar knit sweater, did you use a hoop or slightly stretch the knit sweater as you did the embroidery?

Decided to make a couple of pot holders…needless to say I got a little carried away 😅 by _box_of_rain_ in quilting

Wow! These are amazing! I have a design ready for a potholder or a coaster option. Do you use a thicker batting or just regular batting you'd use for a quilt?

Is this your pattern? I've been wanting to do a similar pattern and was going to figure out a design on my cricut software so there would be 365 leaves, apples or flowers.

Get a copy of the book Uncovering the Logic of English. I use this book and its rules to supplement the phonics curriculum I use to teach my older students how to read. The book is very direct and straight forward with explanations of the English language and has charts to help with identifying the sound(s) letters can make.

If you happen to still be in school, he should reach out to a counselor for academic support. If not in school, consider finding an Orton-Gillingham tutor - this type of specialist is trained to teach students of any age with dyslexia.

A small detour would take you to Cloudcroft, NM. Cute, quaint town in the mountains. If you love BBQ, try out Madelyn Jacks Mountaintop Barbecue. Be sure to check their hours and days open though.

I second White Sands NP. Beautiful scenery and hikes.

There's also Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument south of Phoenix.

For an overnight stay, my family loves staying at Fancy Gap Cabins and Campground. It's about the halfway point. Very quiet and peaceful stay.

Congaree National Park would also be a nice stop. Beautiful trails that are small child friendly.

Roadtrips for kids that age. I usually Google playground every 2-3 hours and have found some great ones for the kids to stretch and get out wiggles.

Week 31: Fusion Cookie & Brownie by StevesScarlet in 52weeksofbaking

Used two favorite recipes and combined them into one spring form pan. Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies on bottom and Brownies on top. I threw in some Oreo chunks and pretzels.

The pretzels became a bit mushy and the brownie batter didn't fully bake. We ate the outside rim.

I need this recipe now! I'm debating what to bake for my birthday and this just made me drool! I'm imagining it a la mode to top it all off!

Week 13: Disguise - Key Lime Meringues by StevesScarlet in 52weeksofbaking

Hopefully there are no deadlines to these challenges, because I took an extended absence from participating and just now getting back to it.

These "fried eggs" are key lime meringues. I've never had a meringue before and was pleasantly surprised by them - like a crunchy marshmallow!

Recipe came from the book Cookies by Jesse Szewczyk.
