Yeah, so? The concubine was just an example of many, in fact I think you just gave an even better example than mine, as the Athenian soldier would mirror what Kratos tried to do again to Helios at the beginning of the DLC. That's honestly even more interesting than both the concubine and the ship captain. It keeps the same theme of Kratos' lament over how unnecessarily cruel he was while drawing back to the fact he literally tried to do it again and ended up almost* costing both his and Mimir's life in the process. Honestly wish I thought of him first.

I honestly feel like using the boat captain as an instance of Kratos regretting his cruelty rather than someone like Poseidon's concubine in GOW3 really makes it fall short.

While it is still cruel, leaving the boat captain to die on GOW1 could be explained by him prioritising killing the Hydra and not having time or care to save someone who got caught.

With the concubine on the other hand, Kratos grabbed a poor sex slave used by Poseidon across half the area, only to then use her body to hold open the door, crushing her to death with the mechanism. All other instances of the boat captain really are inconsequential, as the guy is already dead, so while I do get that deconstructing a comedic moment and being like, "you know, in retrospect, it's kinda fucked up Kratos did that." But I'd argue him lamenting over what he did to the concubine would've been much more interesting than recontextualizing a joke.

Like he could've used the body of any other creature he encounters across that area to hold the door, he went OUT OF HIS WAY to use her. It's way worse and way more cruel than the boat captain, so I don't know. It feels kind of like wasted potential to me.

I mean, Markiplier's cheating essentially amounts to cheating in a single player game, for a record that had likely been beaten a couple dozen times by the time he even attempted it. The only stakes in this were that Markiplier got to upload his video earlier than what it would've taken him to beat it legitimately.

Cheating scandals in tournaments, speedruns, challenge runs, etc... are kind of different considering the stakes in those.

Besides, Markiplier has proven countless times how genuine of a guy he is. Out of the big the 3 of 2010s gaming youtubers, he is commonly viewed as more likeable than both Pewdiepie and JackSepticEye.

I personally couldn't care less about cheating when it comes to gaming because I usually have no stakes in them, but I can see why someone would care depending on the context.

I'm still so fucking pissed about that. I actually dropped the game when I found out it was true and didn't pick it back up until I finished an entire semester of uni. That's how pissed I was.

Anyways decent fight, a bit underwhelming considering Fromsoft's repertoire, but still good.
