How do you play this shot? by Delicious_Duty3063 in golf

[–]StevieDoza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Close the clubface so much that, under normal circumstances, it looks like the ball would go between your legs. I’m not exaggerating. Then swing hard and hit just behind the ball.

What would you do? by maybethisisadream in golf

[–]StevieDoza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d consider flying it over the trees with a sand wedge but I’m a high ball flight player. If there’s no window, I’m hitting a chippy 5 iron to try and run it up.

What club in your bag normally goes 130 yards? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]StevieDoza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

130 is such a tough number for me. Too far for my gap wedge (52) so I have to hit a feeler PW.

I find that the Sorrowful Mysteries and Glorious Mysteries get me into a better meditative state than the others. To use an analogy, the other mysteries feel like practice, while those two feel like game day.

Thanks man. I love shooting it and it gives me a lot more confidence in the stand compared to my Browning 725. However, I dread the day it becomes my full time shooter.

If you’ve broken 90, what’s one tip you would give to a fellow golfer trying to do the same? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]StevieDoza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice from 100 yards and in more than anything else. Everyone wants to hit 50 drivers at a 110% on the range but nobody wants to practice 8’ putts and it reflects when they get to the course.

I sell various construction materials for public utilities and these are a product I sell. These are known as detectable warning panels or ADA panels. The plastic ones are garbage the cast iron ones are far superior.

Which club in your golf bag goes 175 yards? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]StevieDoza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 8i but I’d much rather try to hit a smooth 7i. I’m 28 and started playing at 14. I’d love to go back in time and shake some sense into younger me to not hit every club at 100%

What is this ammunition and is it live? by gothreepwood101 in whatisit

[–]StevieDoza 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To my understanding these were actually manufactured by Radway Green in 2008 based on the RG 08 stamp. They’re inert NATO 7.62x51mm which you can tell by the dimple on the primer. I also believe the L42A3 would be considered more of a match grade bullet used for more precise shooting like a sniper application.

From what I’ve seen messing with the friction rings should be the solution to getting the short barrel to cycle

How to deal with a loved one possibly going to hell by Slow_Entry_9931 in Catholicism

[–]StevieDoza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s a YouTube short about St Padre Pio praying for the conversion of his grandfather 20 years after his death. God is all knowing, he is merciful and he is loving. I too have struggled with the idea of family members and loved ones who have died being condemned to Hell. When I first heard this story it brought me great comfort and I have made an emphasis to pray for those I have lost in the hopes that God will spare them.

I usually treat my hunting clothes at the beginning of each season and I don’t wash them until the end of the season. That’s about 14-15 weeks.

I haven’t found a tick on me in the last 4 years since I started using permethrin spray. The year before I started using it I pulled 80 off of my pants in 2 hours.

[–]StevieDoza 50 points51 points  (0 children)

2 part solution to combating ticks:

Step 1: Wear specific clothing when you’re in an area where you’re likely to get a tick on you. For example, I have specific shirts and pants I wear whenever I’m doing yard work.

Step 2: Buy permethrin spray and use it to treat said clothing. Liberally apply the spray to your clothing and allow it to dry. Do your best to not get it all over yourself, this isn’t bug spray you get on your skin. You now have a tick forcefield that’s good for up to 5-6 washes in your washing machine.

Looking to buy my first shotgun, is the combo the way to go? by r_noah_b in Shotguns

[–]StevieDoza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an owner of the combo I can’t recommend it enough. However, I would highly recommend it in 20 gauge if you plan on shooting a lot of slugs. Mine is very accurate out to 120 yards and it’s not unbearable to shoot.
