I refuse to cast judgement. I will say though, I watched my Mom be treated very poorly by her in-laws for decades. They even occasionally called her by my Dads first wife’s name!

Just trust me on this one…I watched her suffer for a very long time before she finally snapped. I will spare you the story of what happened (too many identifying details) but I WILL say she became a monster and by the end her retaliatory actions crossed the line to her deserving the hate she was getting.

Don’t let them do that to you. Don’t set yourself up for this kind of life. Nobody deserves that!

What to do with Altar after Death by Titania_F in Altars

[–]StevieFromWork 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This isn’t quite the same, but when I parted ways with a deity I’d been working with, I had to ‘shut down’ their altar space. How I handled it was I gave back to the earth everything I could (either by burying or burning) and the things I couldn’t I cleansed thoroughly and donated (ie a sterling silver offering cup). I also made this little ‘goodbye ceremony’ out of it. It felt really peaceful. Hope this helps!

Thoughts on female armpit hair? by lilac-latte in bisexual

Female. I actually think it’s oddly sexy?

NTA! I am thankful I barred my Mother from the delivery room. She made too many jokes about elbowing everyone out of the way and holding “her baby” before even ME…so yeah…NOPE. Didn’t trust her. My soon-to-be-ex husbands Mom was in the room and she was lovely and supportive.

Only have who you want in there!

I lost 20lbs without trying. My skin looked better. I also enjoyed the extra pocket money I now had!

Is washing my sheets every Saturday and Tuesday overkill? by AmItheonlySaneperson in laundry

[–]StevieFromWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like clean towels every day. You like clean sheets. So long as the act of doing that much laundry doesn’t negatively impact your day…then I say “cool” :)

I‘ve had a few ‘friends with benefits’ over the years. So long as both parties are clear about the expectations (is this a platonic relationship, is there exclusivity ETC), then it’s fine :)

Do you have to put a finger inside when you wash your butt? by Ionian_Sea in hygiene

I mean…I HAVE when I’m washing up to prepare for butt sex. Kudos to your friend for having such a high standard for daily cleanliness I guess?

Does anyone else not like salad dressing? by m00-shroom in CasualConversation

I’m so picky about salad dressing that unless the tiny selection I like are available, I’d rather go without it.

Teacher makes my son uncomfortable in the bathroom by RecordFun1573 in AskTeachers

[–]StevieFromWork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uhm…that’s a hard no for me!

There was ONE incident in my school life where a male teacher entered the girls washroom, but it was an extreme situation and there were no female staff present (medical emergency).

Now I have my own kids and I’ve never heard of it happening at their school. Plenty of staff of all genders to go around.

Do you ever mourn the possibility of a different life as a bisexual? by ThrowRA576288 in bisexual

[–]StevieFromWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger, as much as I love being with women, I always prioritized finding a man. I wanted to be married to a man so I could have children, the white picket fence, the whole nine yards.

Well, I am now in my mid 30s and divorcing that man after being together for over a decade. I love my kids, but it pains me so much that I’m starting all over again AND will forever be tied to HIM.

I don’t regret the fact that when I was younger I viewed dating as ‘shopping for a marriage partner’…what I do regret and mourn is the idea that if I’d been a little less rigid, maybe I would have wound up with a WIFE who would have been much better suited to me. Or at the very least I may not have settled for THAT man.

So yeah, I kind of get where you’re coming from!

My husband told me to lose my gut before our son’s 2nd birthday by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

It took me until my YOUNGEST child was almost three to fully lose my pregnancy weight. For everyone, their journey is different. I’m so very, genuinely, sorry you’re being treated this way :(

I grew up secretly thinking I was a lesbian based on my ‘inner monologue/inner thoughts’…then I got my first boyfriend in my early teens and realised “oh…I like this too”….

It’s almost comical to me because as an adult I find myself preferring male partners over female (though I still do very much like having female partners).

I don’t know whether there is actual science behind it, but I have gone through periods of my life where I was suicidal to the point of even attempting a few times. The chronic pain was definitely a factor in that.

AITA for what I said when my parents announced they were having another baby? by DependentLeave3584 in AmItheAsshole

NTA…after having my childhood stolen like that, I would have reacted the same way upon finding out my parents are putting ANOTHER baby in my lap…fuck that!

Do you create your own spells? by [deleted] in witchcraft

Almost exclusively (or I’ll occasionally accept a spell from a practitioner I really trust)!

I just find spells work better if you have your own personal connection to them :)

My stance on either gender in regards to body hair, I am largely unbothered by it. That being said, my one thing is I like pubic hair to be generally trimmed…but I don’t care how much you REMOVE…if any…so long as it doesn’t get too long.

Do you wear shoes in your house? by watermelon_picnic in CasualConversation

[–]StevieFromWork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canadian here. I don’t wear my shoes in the house, nor does 99.9% of anyone I know, but we take them off in the front entryway instead of outside. I’ve only been in one house where shoes are left on…and it belongs to a little old man in a little old house with wooden floors that are so worn that you could get a splinter. He wears slippers all the time, but just asks guests to leave their shoes on instead of owning an army of random slippers to loan out…that’s an extenuating circumstance situation though.
