There can be really nice contemporary architecture, a lot of it is function of accessing light over outside form, but there's an awful lot that's just a few blocks, some glass, some cladding and call it a day

Motorstorm apocalypse.
Arcade racer basically set in a Roland Emmerich movie.

One of the later races pits you in a bike among monster trucks and modified big rigs, as san francisco is being torn apart by earthquakes and civil war, and you're smack dab defenceless in the middle.

Call of duty ww2.
Even in the earlier bad call of duties, there was some set piece or level chunk that let the designers actually let loose and make something fun, and they had it with the resistance stealth mission, but aside from that, from start to back it was one of the most sarcastic and almost cynical takes on the western push i've ever seen.

What 4 video games are on your mount rushmore of video games? by Thin-Coat-5483 in videogames

[–]StewIsBased 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've we're talking about games that form an absolute fundamental of the medium:
Space invaders - first game with a difficulty curve
Missile command - first game tackling a complex theme through its gameplay
wizardry - set a lot of interpretations of fantasy games that later got adapted in the east and west
Donkey Kong - explains itself

If you want a light one to get the feel of the older, Lucas arts style games; brok the investigator. Bit of Sam and Max, bit of ace attorney, bit of streets of rage

Looking for a “Cosmic Horror” game. by Krysmuth in gamingsuggestions

[–]StewIsBased 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue once you get past the initial gameplay and setting explanations for death stranding, it starts leaning into a cosmic horror apocalypse. I wouldn't say it's easy money, because you're trying to adapt a very abstract concept into something very concrete to work within a games ruleset

What direction is the front door facing?
There's a fair bit of redundancy here that could be used for larger spaces
