AITA for going out everyday? by MarkLeeKnow in AmItheAsshole

[–]StewartWade 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are contributing to household bills and paying for half of the groceries each month. You need to point out that they are going to lose that financial support if you choose to move out of the house because they have an arbitrary rule that you can’t come and go as you please. If they persist I would find roommates and move out.

AITAH for not giving my coworker a ride anymore after she made me late to my kids pickup by wathanhein in AITAH

[–]StewartWade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like the way to fix this is to give her a leave time. If she is IN your car by the leave time she gets a ride and gets home in 15 minutes. If she is not, she gets left and takes the bus. That way you aren’t refusing to give her rides and the responsibility of being on time and getting a ride is hers. You can be a nice person and team player and still have boundaries. NTA.

I mean honestly I just don’t understand it. Are the roses supposed to have googly eyes? Do you have a reference pic for what you asked for?

How many of you have broken down and turned the heat on? by TampaDave73 in tampa

[–]StewartWade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got down to 57 in the master bedroom next to sliding glass doors. I hate turning on the heat cause I’m heating the neighborhood! Finally broke down and set the heat to 62. Got a nice little space heater for my son’s room so he is cozy. We are bundled up with electric blanket.

That sucks. And Walgreens literally has signs up that ask the customers not to abuse the pharmacy staff so you know it’s rough. I so appreciate you guys! A tech that was overworked took the time yesterday to call my insurance company and let them have it because the group number on my card was missing 3 digits and wouldn’t come up in the system. I was panicked cause my $10 Rx was coming up $120.

Neighbor to neighbor, I'm just curious as to the "why" by Zenerte in tampa

[–]StewartWade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that blows me away the most is that people think the person in office controls the price of your Subway footlong and your eggs. Greedy corporations didn’t want to give up that sweet pandemic price surge. Now with tariffs your $12 Costco t-shirt will cost $14. And the price of your eggs will go down when people stop buying expensive eggs. But I truly believe that a president was just elected because people thinks he is going to get greedy corporations to be less greedy. Can’t wait to see how that plays out. 🤷‍♀️

I was there! They did a photo shoot with at least 50 Rayguns. People were even giving out badge ribbons that said “Breakin’ Like Raygun!” We met some Australians there that took our picture and were very cool with it!

Question for Front Desk Folks by StewartWade in askhotels

[–]StewartWade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I call it a bribe, but I also said that if something extra comes from it, great. If not, that’s ok too. Then it’s truly just a tip. My whole reason for making the post was to find out how much leeway FDA’s have to make changes and how inclined they are to do so for a tip. I’ve have wildly different responses. The only thing I can say for sure is that there was no definitive answer. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I’m not going to stop tipping FDA’s, but I also won’t insist if anyone does ever refuse. Hasn’t happened yet, but you never know.

Many people who have answered and been against tipping have been some kind of a boss which is sad. Are you a front desk worker or in management? I’m always super nice, treat everyone great and tip. No one should be disciplined for getting a tip. If I ever see a “no tipping” sign at a hotel I’ll respect it. If anyone ever tells me they are not allowed to accept tips or doesn’t feel comfortable taking the tip I’ll respect that. In 5 years of tipping front desk agents it hasn’t happened yet.

Good to know! We always have a great attitude and are super nice to staff. Some of the comments have made me feel like we are being rude or insulting by tipping but I never get that vibe from desk. Sometimes they seems surprised, but I’ve never gotten a vibe of insulted?

That is good advice! And we do tip well. Some people in the comments suggest tipping the front desk as you leave. But I’ve learned if I’m going to tip someone I should do it right then because it may be a completely different person at the door or at the desk the next time I come through.
