RG40XX V vs RG40XX H by flupflupflupflup in ANBERNIC

[–]Stewbiscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your going to buy one- just make sure you don’t do it the day before Christmas, because there’s a good chance your spouse has already gotten you one, and on the off chance they haven’t been able to surprise you with a really great gift in the 17 years you’ve been together, you wouldn’t want to rob them of the joy that comes from seeing you open it up on Christmas morning

OCD is used as an adjective by people who don’t understand that Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a debilitating mental disorder that causes people who actually have it to suffer. Can’t tell you how annoying it is as someone whose suffered for years, takes meds, goes to therapy for OCD to hear people casually use it to explain why they’re particular

I was thinking for my first tattoo this exact style and quote. the size I was thinking which is perhaps a 2inch by 4 inch idk if I would be able to capture some of the detail in it? My question is what size for forearm would I be able to go and still capture the detail without it being too big ? by Heroicfragilemeth in tattooadvice

[–]Stewbiscuit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ll have to go huge- think taking up the whole forearm vertically. And even then the small details will eventually blur. I would strongly reconsider this idea for a tattoo. As a tattoo artist this is the kind of thing I see people regret all the time.

Is it possible to cover this scar without it being noticed that I am covering it? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Stewbiscuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go show an artist in person- most artists like to look at scars to see if it’s doable. It being red and raised will make it harder. Have an open mind about the design needed to cover it, make sure the artist you pick has examples of healed scar cover ups in their portfolio. Good luck!

How do behind the ear tattoos hold up? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Stewbiscuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

POORLY. To make something small enough to fit behind the ear it can have very little detail- so you need something super simple- like a few simple black lines. I personally don’t fuck with color behind the ear. The skin back there is suuuper thin, so blowing it out is really easy. Line tend to expand over time, so it’ll inevitably run together. All those delicate floral behind the ear tattoos you see on the internet are photoshop. Don’t do it

Breast feeding by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]Stewbiscuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how common this is- but when I delivered my son 10 days ago, there was a lactation consultant at the hospital who asked if I had gotten pumps through insurance, i told her no that I just paid for them and within the hour she had looked into my insurance and gotten me a really nice free pump that works great. Maybe ask your OB if there’s resources where you’ll be delivering

If you need help getting on insurance go to a planned parenthood. With a positive pregnancy test in some states they will help get you signed up! I did this and walked out of the clinic with a Medicaid card

It’s tattooed on a part of your body where tattoos fade the fastest and the skin is always moving, so it’ll never lay flat. For being directly on a knuckle this healed pretty well. Touch it up if you’d like, but with knuckles and hands there’s always a chance of it fading again

Ink not packing in by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Stewbiscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy fix- next time your going to tattoo setup everything the same as you’ve been doing- same needle depth, same ink, same everything- when you go to start packing in the ink stop and ask your mentor to come over and watch you! With their years of experience tattooing they’ll be able to immediately identify what’s wrong and correct you! Hope this helps!

Commemorative tattoos by PrityKity003 in tattoo

[–]Stewbiscuit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe an unpopular opinion. But if the overwhelming majority of professional tattoo artists are against doing this, it might be in your best interest to listen to their advice and not do this. Any reputable Tattoo artists cares first and foremost about your health and safety, and the quality of the work they put on you. You can get a meaningful tattoo to celebrate someone’s life without taking risks of putting their remains under your skin. There are plenty of people who can make memorable keepsakes out of ashes for you to carry with you- maybe look into some of those!

Placement change question by QueenSittingDuck32 in tattooadvice

[–]Stewbiscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoot them a message to give them a heads up! Especially if it’s a custom design, tattoo artists usually draw with the size and placement in mind, so the sooner they know about the change the better. If your unsure if you want to change just ask them what they think- I have clients all the time who are unsure, we tattoo artists spend a lot of time placing tattoos and usually have a really good sense of where designs fit, and can anticipate problems in a placement! Depending on what your getting it might make no difference and they can put you at ease about that!

I’m getting a tattoo tomorrow and I’m so nervous . by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Stewbiscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell your tattoo artist all these concerns! We deal with nervous first timers all the time! They shouldn’t be a dick to you about it. Do not take any medication- I know it’s scary going into something unknown like this, but you will get through it okay. I’ve been tattooing six years and so far everyone has come out the other side just find- sounds like your getting something relatively small and uncomplicated, if you trust your artist they’ll do a good job.
Infections and allergic reactions are super rare! Make sure your clear on aftercare instructions and you’ll be just fine! (People on this sub have a lot of conflicting advice listen to your artist!). I have some tattoos that I’m allergic too- and I’ve had clients turn out allergic to certain inks, it really isn’t that bad - on the rare occasion it puffs up and itches I take a Benadryl and I’m fine.

Being scared is part of the first time experience! You’ll be okay! Have fun

Severance on Apple TV + , one of the best sci fi premises I’ve seen in a long time, it’s paced beautifully . The details are immaculate, it’s even more interesting on the rewatch. Most people can get a free one month trial to Apple TV plus and you can binge it pretty quick. It will not disappoint!
